I made a mistake and if that mistake costs me my career, then that's where we need to look. Look at what I did and look at what I lost. You know what I'm saying. Does marijuana, is it that bad? That's the question I really want people to ask themselves sometimes.
Following rules blindly, doesn't mean you're right just by following those rules. There needs to be a just rule. I mean, a long time ago George Washington sat around, didn't want to pay taxes to the crown. There's other things going on, but the rudimentary part of our American revolution was we didn't want to pay taxes. And we broke that rule and we have America today. You know, if we would've lost that war, George Washington would be Benedict Arnold.
You know, it's whoever wins, you get the praise. Nicotine won, the tobacco industry won. That's the thing, they wouldn't want marijuana to be legal. It causes less cancer and actually, I've read studies where in cities with very bad air polution like in Indiana, it helps protect you from lung cancer.
Via Indy Cornrows, I think we can all safely assume the suspension was for weed.

That is a hell of a quote
He had me going and sounded like a reasonably intelligent man till ending with smoking Pot proteting one from lung cancer. George Wanshington, the revolution, taxes and America.
I like him though, just from the quote. He’s got an open mind and thats better than a closed one. But, he needs some filters, too. smoking anything for protection from lung cancer, you got to wonder. Although, there was a time I was sort of thinking that its not the tobacco, but all the additives and the filter cigarette companies put in tha’ll kill ya. Rationalizing, because I kinda like to roll my own Organic American Spirits everyonce in a while while camping in the woods sitting around a campfire and drinking wine (and protecting myself from lung cancer). Its times like that that you come up with crazy ideas like that. But, to give a quote like that to the media.

In fairness
Pot smoke could well be less dangerous than the air in some places. Protecting from cancer, not so much.

Yeah that is amazing!
I like this guy already – I mean, how much better is this than “we really gave 110% out there today”?

revisionist history
how can you resist the stoner narrative that emphasizes george washington’s role in the revolution, where he “sat around” and thought about not wanting to pay taxes? I can’t help but imagine george’s “sitting around” to include the cupping of a three foot water bong. the american revolution, as filmed by richard linklater.
also: paul revere’s ride? just a “wild trip”: one if by land, two if by spliff!
thomas paine’s important revolutionary tract? “common sinsemilla” of course!
someone call NORML, we’re on to something here. but seriously, i share everyone’s excitement about hopefully seeing this cat altering some shots.

dope!
“rolling some federalist papers” is the best new addition to the lexicon in a long time. can’t believe that’s not in a cypress hill lyric somewhere.
and don’t forget that the original draft of the constitution started with “weed the people” before it got edited by the tobacco industry.
