I like this start

they’re missing shots because they’re too amped up, but they’re good shots, they’ll start to drop

lol

call me crazy but I kind of like Collins starting…maybe I just became a fan when he played Bosh so well in the playoffs a few years ago, but I feel like he sets a tone defensively.

I Mean My god…all i heard today on KFAN was the Damn Soundbite of KG on National TV Sounding like a Complete F*ckin Retard Going “THIS IS FOR EVERYBODY IN SOTA!,,, ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!” SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!.

Agreed.

He was part of the culture here and between the salary and being co-GM and forcing the team’s hand on guys like T-Hud, both parties had to move on.

How many other teams...

….in the NBA had a game where they didn’t start one of their last 5 1st round picks? Now that Foye is back in there, the Wolves have 1. Before he was in there, I think they had a game where there were none.

Foye

should be looking to shoot over Rondo, in my humble opinion. Catch the ball and shoot young man.

Rajon Rondo

Is Extremely OverRated…Foye Needs to Take advantage of that.

I like Rondo

on the whole but this is a tough start for Foye – he’s trying not to make mistakes again.

Are there plenty of KG Celtics replicas in the crowd tonight?

I hope having KG actually playing in the Target Centre for another team will finish off

Here's a trade

Kaman for Jason Collins (and his expiring contract and McCants) Salaries work

by DR_JPK on Nov 21, 2008 7:48 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Perhaps Shaddy? But

I would even go so far as to give up foye. I like the idea of having a potential Kaman/AlJeff/Love frontcourt w miller and Telfair, a smaller version of Rajon Rondo that I think the Celts just showed is good enough when you have talent to pass it to. Bring gomes and smith off the bench. Throw in an expiring contract as DR says, I think its pretty doable.

by Uncle Junior on Nov 21, 2008 7:50 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

by Tony_O on Nov 21, 2008 7:56 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

why would the Clippers

give up Kaman for Collins and Foye or McCants? Surely they can get a lot more than that for him.

well they do need a combo type guard

look at their roster, besides baron and rookie eric gordon whos gonna play for them that could help them in the future? foye would be a good gamble for them to make, imo

by Uncle Junior on Nov 21, 2008 8:02 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't see why a team that chose Gordon

would be particularly interested in Foye or McCants, it would give them the same problem as us – a bunch of guys at the same position. They’d never hear the end of it if they traded Kaman for a bench guy.

That's been the pattern so far this year...

…however, unlike earlier games, this one appears to be hard fought on both ends. The losses against some of these other teams have been tough to watch because of the 3 quarter sleepwalking factor.

Post on Kaman from espn

News: Kaman had 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting with 14 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots in 38 minutes Wednesday night in the Clippers’ victory over the Thunder.
Spin: This was Kaman’s third consecutive double-double, all coming after rumors broke that the Clippers were evaluating Kaman’s value in the trade market. He has at least one block in every game (3.0 bpg) this season, and is averaging 19.0 points and 13.3 rebounds in his three-game post-rumor run.

by DR_JPK on Nov 21, 2008 8:13 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

in other words...

…why trade him for 2 bench guys?

by plinytheelder on Nov 21, 2008 8:14 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

hehe

good point. I think that’s the only reason this trade would happen.

by plinytheelder on Nov 21, 2008 8:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The Clips...

…actually have a pretty solid history of being stingy on drafts. They took the Wolves for a ride with Marko and I’m sure they are asking for the moon with Kaman. I get that Kaman would make a nice pair with Al and that Love would compliment them nicely off the bench, but it’s not happening with this front office and LAC.

Remember folks,

…it’s Boston’s tough d:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQaVvf2VOsc

I think they’re a good defensive team but they’re aided by some looking the other way in terms of reffing. It’s like Green Bay’s cornerbacks. They play physical and eventually the refs just grade on a scale.

OK...I'm tired of the great defense talk

Section VIII-Defensive Three-Second Rule
a. The count starts when the offensive team is in control of the ball in the front-court.
b. Any defensive player, who is positioned in the 16-foot lane or the area extending 4 feet past the lane endline, must be actively guarding an opponent within three seconds. Actively guarding means being within arms length of an offensive player and in a guarding position.
c. Any defensive player may play any offensive player. The defenders may double-team any player.
d. The defensive three-second count is suspended when: (1) there is a field goal attempt, (2) there is a loss of team control, (3) the defender is actively guarding an opponent or (4) the defender completely clears the 16-foot lane.
e. If the defender is guarding the player with the ball, he may be located in the 16-foot lane. This defender is not required to be in an actively guarding/arms dis-tance position. If another defender actively guards the player with the ball, the original defender must actively guard an opponent or exit the 16-foot lane. Once the offensive player passes the ball, the defender must actively guard an opponent or exit the 16-foot lane.
PENALTY: A technical foul shall be assessed. The offensive team retains pos-session at the free throw line extended. The shot clock shall remain the same as when play was interrupted or reset to 14 seconds, whichever is greater.

The Knicks aren't going to get Lebron...

…they just ran a special about the Knicks trades today. No way they land Lebron.

:)

I just don’t think I can watch too much more of this. As a project for everyone during the 4th, watch what Boston does with 1 of its 2 bigs in the lane on defense. 1 of the 2 sets up near the free throw line and just sits there. You could call a 3 second violation on damn near every possession.

to my mind

that’s why they should get rid of the rule. If you’re going to let them play zone don’t be half-ass about it.

by plinytheelder on Nov 21, 2008 8:55 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I can live with that...

…I think there should be zero rules on zone d.

yeah wouldn't it be nice

to not assume the fans are all idiots and need ACTION ACTION ACTION every second? It would be so much more interesting.

by plinytheelder on Nov 21, 2008 8:58 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think they'd...

…have to move in the 3 point line and widen the lane, but I agree. As it stands right now, the Celtics just put 2 7 footers in the lane and have them hack anyone that comes near.
