A challenge from Blazers Edge
As an introduction ... I am the official Blazers Edge Ambassador to Canis Hoopus. Since no one has time to read all the NBA blogs our blogger Dave has appointed ambassadors to keep up with each team through their SBN blogs. We report back what you are excited about and what you are concerned about. We try to clear up misconceptions about the Blazers and offer sympathy and encouragement when necessary. (Everyone over there thinks McHale is just as misguided as you do.)
Anyway, as our team is now emerging from the depths, we are becoming a real fan community. Last year we had our first Blazers Edge night at a game and we have another coming up in December. Last year we provided tickets for 20 some kids to go to the game with us - kids who would never have had the opportunity otherwise. We want to buy tickets for even more kids in December so Dave has issued this challenge:
I’d like to make a special offer to my fellow NBA bloggers out there. We will feature any NBA blog that purchases three or more tickets for these kids on the main page of Blazersedge for a week. I don’t mean just a simple link either. I mean we will talk about, evaluate, and interact with whatever you do for five straight days, Monday through Friday. Send three or more kids to a game, write solidly for a week, and you could have readership for life.
And my personal advice is : hang in there. We hit bottom too - only it was off-kilter players as well as management - and now we are emerging from that well of darkness, smelling the fresh air of victory, getting rained on at times, but still climbing and getting excited about the real prospect of playoffs again. And when we've finished our run it could well be your turn :-)

We're very aware of your squad...
…something to do with a trade and a coin-flip ;)
Thanks for the info.

Coin flip?
Didn’t you guys win the coin flip?
Or am I thinking another year when Seattle won a coin flip with us?

Oden...
…was the result of getting a set of lotto numbers in a coin flip with the Wolves.
With a little luck and competence, the Wolves don’t match Portland’s offer sheet for Trenton Hassell, they keep Brandon Roy, and they win the coin flip that had the number combo for Greg Oden and KG is….well, there’s a certain amount of bitterness associated with having Blazers fans to tell us to hang in there.

The Blazers
have our share of idiotic decisions by management pre-Pritchard so don’t feel too sorry for yourself. The biggest standout is not drafting Chris Paul and instead trading for Martell Webster and Jarrett Jack. The funny thing is that Pritchard really wanted Chris Paul but was overruled by then-GM John Nash and President Steve Patterson, both since fired. So get some good management and this “luck” starts going your way once in a while.
