wow fantastic pass by Telfair right from the get-go

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:13 PM CST reply actions

Blazers should go zone here?

they got nobody who can guard Big Al.

Let’s see Wittman put some shooters out there – sub McCants for Brewer

by highpockets on Nov 8, 2008 9:21 PM CST reply actions

missed the 4 first minutes

but it seems the announcers waited for me start explaining the roy/foye deal. Only to completely mess up the thing :d

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 9:25 PM CST reply actions

transistion d by aj looked nice, no?

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 9:28 PM CST reply actions

lol, too dark to see really :D. thx for the praise :)

Momentum shifting here

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 9:33 PM CST up reply actions

I like the game plan

get it to big Al every time!

nice start

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:29 PM CST reply actions

Madsen...

?

would not have predicted that.

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:35 PM CST reply actions

Good start

So much for my suggestion of shortening the bench, though playing Gomes at the 3 is the right thing with a team this big.

Foye showing confidence. Clear that the pressure of getting the 1st unit into the offense was too much for him, but he can be the man in the 2nd unit when AJ’s not on the floor.

by Sterno on Nov 8, 2008 9:38 PM CST reply actions

I like the suggestion.

especially when it comes to Ollie and Carney

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

don't turn this into a jump shooting contest

keep attacking the Blazers big men – get to the foul line

Think Shaddy will still be on the floor coming back from the timeout?

by highpockets on Nov 8, 2008 9:46 PM CST reply actions

I liked Aldridge...

backing off the drive by Smith to cover Mad Dog.

That was funny.

by highpockets on Nov 8, 2008 9:50 PM CST reply actions

Foye should have gone and gotten the ball in the backcourt from McCants

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:51 PM CST reply actions

Yeah it’s him against Outlaw in a 1-on-1 show

Lucky for us McCants is winning hehe

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 9:53 PM CST up reply actions

how good would he be if he played good d

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 9:57 PM CST up reply actions

funny because I'm a bit of a cycling fanatic

and I just read an article about Briek Schotte, who apparently used to get up at 3:30am, so that he could get a full shift in at the factory before he had to race!

You getting up at the same time makes me think it’s a Belgian thing! ;)

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 10:04 PM CST up reply actions

lol :d. Well I used to get up at 2am to work in a bakery for a job over the summer but I definitly had no energy left afterwards ^^

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 10:08 PM CST up reply actions

Mad Dog screaming on the sidelines again, love it (I’m about 2 minutes behind ;) )

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 10:04 PM CST reply actions

Not enough minutes to go around…one of Foye-McCants-Miller should probably get traded.

by Andy G on Nov 8, 2008 10:14 PM CST reply actions

yeah a bit of a logjam...

still 5 guys (Foye Brewer Telfair McCants Miller) for 3 spots isn’t so bad is it? the difference tonight is playing Gomes at the 3…which of course leaves fewer minutes for Brewer and Miller…

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 10:23 PM CST up reply actions

I leave for 5 min

and Shaddy goes wild. I wonder how other teams scout him?

It still looks like he’s trying to break Yinka Dare’s consecutive-minutes-played-without-an-assist record.

How much longer till the half ends?

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on

wow Portland is sucking tonight...

leave Al alone for a 10-foot J off an inbounds play?

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 10:26 PM CST reply actions

miller open for 3 … money.. Finally

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 10:30 PM CST reply actions

An odd thing...

Love seems to take a lot of shots to the face. I often see him grabbing his nose/eyes after whistles.

by jianfu on Nov 8, 2008 10:40 PM CST up reply actions

I know Blazers fans love Mike Rice

But the guy is supremely irritating.

He's kooky. And a homer. A kooky homer. A gomer. Sort of like a nerdy uncle that drinks on the job and says inappropriate things now and then...

…………………………… I can see how he doesn’t play well at all outside of the Portland market.

hehe Al’s fouling out their bigs

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 10:41 PM CST reply actions

The only negative with Al is he doesn't get off the ground

Although to be a great low post player you don’t have to get off the ground.

Doesn't mean he gets off the ground

Artest doesn’t get off the ground either. He’s still effective as a defensive player.

haven’t seen Aldridge play much, sure is nice to watch, very smooth

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 10:43 PM CST reply actions

that desperation 3 by brew was nice ^^

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 10:44 PM CST reply actions

Is it me, or does Jim Pete seem rather cranky tonight?

by jianfu on Nov 8, 2008 10:50 PM CST reply actions

I have said many times I think Wittman will be one of the first to get the ax

For the Wolves fans sake I hope that’s true. This team is badly underperforming.

Did you see him play @ BC?

by Wim (Belgium) on Nov 8, 2008 10:56 PM CST up reply actions

Haha

Yeah he was even more physical if you can believe that. College ball is even more rugged than the NBA is. 15 years ago that wasn’t true, but now, the NBA is less physical.

Minny's lack of depth hurts them

Like last night, Witt takes out Jefferson or Love, and the offense has no coherence (or plan), and the Wolves just come apart.

Nice 3 by Bassy

That looked to be a nice rhythm shot too.

Unfortunately that shot by Bassy was just as bad

This offense does not work for this team.

He got the switch, and stayed patient, and gets to the line.

I'd like to see them go back to the first half plan

of getting it to Jefferson every time, he’s passed well tonight

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 11:07 PM CST reply actions

Without Oden

The Blazers have nobody who can stop Al one on one. (It’s almost amazing. The wolves with a plan are far more formidable. Shocking.)

Actually, Pryz did a nice job tonight, but he was out/incapacitated with foul trouble all night long.

………………….. But Big Al is an All Star and those guys get their points against anyone.

A wide open 15 footer & Foye misses it

Why shouldn’t he take it? More importantly missing it.

Rice had been saying it for 3 mins

And Miller gets a 3 off the Al Double team. It does make sense.

Nice move Brandon Roy inside

(Stagnant for about the middle part of the 4th, and for the last third of the 4th qtr, it’s been tremendous back & forth action. One of the fun things about watching the NBA.)

Wow at that

That’s why I’m not in love with Al. Had he had some hops, I think he would have been able to get that ball up. Especially with his un-real ability around the hoop. (Although that’s not a guarantee he would have made the shot.)

How do we not get the ball out of Roy's hands once?

This is Parker all over again. Make someone else beat you.

Roy is money late in games, for sure.

why is that not travel

when i guy falls to the ground with the ball?

by wolfen on Nov 8, 2008 11:27 PM CST reply actions

I kind of thought so too

maybe he called the timeout before he hit the ground

by plinytheelder on Nov 8, 2008 11:27 PM CST up reply actions

Kind of a nice game on the whole though, I thought. If Love plays halfway decent they win. This is the kind of game I think they win in January.

We've got a rematch on your ice next Saturday. Good luck with it. The Wolves are MUCH improved this year!

Pretty ok game from the individual players perspective but now I saw what I really tought, the coach has to go, asap.

I really want more good 3point attempts. Where are the 3 TOP20 3point shooters?
You have to get a stop on such tight games. Where’s the team defense?
Why did we only see the Jefferson-Miller in-out thing at the end of the game?

I’m already rapidly falling in Love with Love though he’s a rookie off course and we need a bigger guy who can do defense, rebounds and putbacks, in that order.
