Brewer out for the season
Terrible news via Jerry Zgoda at the Strib. Brewer tore his right ACL during the loss to Denver.
Brewer is now the Wolves' 3rd #1 pick in a row to suffer a severe injury during his 2nd year in the league.

God, that is terrible.
Poor kid. Here’s hoping for a full recovery.

This is really a blow.
I thought Corey showed progress in the first 15 games of this season. It’s a shame he can’t keep it going.

That really is too bad.
A torn ACL is not good. Right? Has there been any success stories of NBA players coming back from a torn ACL?
Corey’s best attrribute was his quickness and running ability. Once he solved his shooting problem I thought he could become a legit NBA player. All that is in doubt now.
I feel really bad for him, really bad.

Adam Morrison tore his ACL
Kristic had one. Nene too.
I agree with Wyn. Brewer was really showing progress this year. When did the injury happen and did he reenter the game after the fact? Here’s a list of his stints in the game:

Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and that he hits the upper-body weights a’la Shaddy when he got hurt….turn this negative into a positive. I can’t imagine what a blow this must be to him.

Cursed franchise?
He was getting better, and was one of the more likeable guys on the team. He was also getting comfortable with his role in the 2nd unit. With more Carney and Mccants (maybe?) this team just got more unwatchable.
He did limp off after his 1st stint in the 3rd, then came back. He must’ve done it that time, or at least partially done it and maybe hurt it more later. I left after the 3rd quarter, so I can’t say what happened after that.
Man, i’m bummed.

I am so sorry.

Thanks...
…it’s becoming a sad tradition here in Minny: 2nd year players getting severe injuries. Love better come out in a protective cocoon next season.

They should have him operated by a super-specialist, e.g. Steadman in Utah
He operates e.g. pro-skiers all the time, and they come back the next season. Since this one is early in the season, he could be expected to be back at full speed next year. At training camp that is. Still a horrible blow to your season, and his of course.
P.S.: There is more experience with pro athletes coming back from ligament injuries than micro-fracture. It’s a well proven surgical procedure, and the way to rehab is also tried. That’s what kept me confident even Livingston could come back from his horrible injury.

You probably didn’t know that yet but there’s a ban on mentioning Livingston here ^^ ….., just kidding. Tried to get him in NBA 2K9 but he wouldn’t sign with us wolfies there either.
I’m especially interested what happens with Carney know. If he finds some way to pull a Telfair on this it might easy the pain.

carney
i really liked his game in college. he’s a hell of an athlete who should be a good addition to some of the plodding wolves lineups we’ve seen out there this year. jefferson, love, gomes, milller, and foye might be one of the slowest lineups a team tosses out this year. if carney can inject a little speed to the lineup, it should make things easier, but losing brewer sucks.

While his game hasn’t progressed to where I’d hoped it to be, the young man never lacked for effort. The latter being something that can’t be said for for everyone on the Zombies roster. The former? That’s pretty much a blanket statement.
Get well, Corey.
Look here junior, don't you be so happy.
And for Heaven's sake, don't you be so sad.

Agreed.
He and Love are winners. It’s time to bring back Laettner to point out the winners and losers in the locker room.
