Trade Rumors of the Day
All via Hoopshype
The Suns and a number of other teams are talking to the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers and Nets about trading up in (or out of) the draft. The Wolves seem especially ready to make a deal if Michael Beasley isn't on the board at No. 3. They like several of the bigs in this draft, including Brook Lopez, Kevin Love and Danilo Gallinari, but none of them is worth taking at No. 3.
It appears the Wolves won't take back veterans, though. Several GMs told me that Kevin McHale is looking for young players only.
Seattle is also reportedly trying hard to move up to #2, and is dangling Chris Wilcox as bait (in exchange for the cumbersome contract of Mark Blount). The Supersonics would also take Beasley there. This is all assuming that O.J. Mayo doesn’t go third to Minnesota, which is not something teams should take for granted just yet based off what we know so far.
Star Tribune FIXED
Look for the Wolves to make every effort to buy out the contract of forward Antoine Walker or trade him. You can rest assured he won't be warming the bench while the team's young players perform next season.
Vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale, looking ahead to the June 26 NBA draft, said the team has pared its short list for the third selection to four. "For that third pick, we started out with eight guys, excluding (Michael) Beasley and (Derrick) Rose (who are expected to go No. 1 and No. 2)," McHale said, "and we're down to like four guys that we really like a lot. Any one of those four guys you'd be really excited about."
"We've got offers," he said. "I would tell you there's not an offer I'd do today. I think if we do anything, it will probably be (draft) night because I'd like to see what happens in front of us, too. Who knows? A lot of strange things happen in this draft."

Strib plagiarism or trouble with the copy command?
Your draft express and Strib comments are word for word. Did the strib plagiarize off a lowly blog or is this and editing error on your part?

I just want the 26th to come around so we can do this. Hopefully they’ll either do that deal with the Sonics (who will take Bayless) and then we can get Wilcox and Mayo with the four pick.

BTW:
I see I have inadvertently stolen your tagline over at TT. I even saw that I had “belong” down as “belongs”. I’ll have to think up of another broken English saying to put with my name.
All your Wolves basketball are belong to us.

Actually...
As someone who thinks it’s not unlikely they’ll screw this up somehow, I’m not sure I’m in a hurry to see the draft come. At least now we have hope and possibility. That can end in a hurry, as we’ve seen.
