Draft Coverage is Hilarious...
Well, looking at some of the interweb/newspaper blurbs captured over at Twolvesblog, I see we’re comfortably in a wave of “OMG! If the Wolves pass on Mayo They’re Idiots!!! He’s Got SUPERSTAR Written All Over Him!!!” hysteria.
I’d be willing to bet that a lot of these same commentators were the ones who were in “Wolves have the #3 pick in a 2-player draft” mode after the lottery. Somehow, I guess Mayo became a star between then and now.
It happens every year.
Not that I’m complaining. That’s good leverage, my friends. Good leverage.
I'm really impressed...
...how the FO has played their hand with the draft so far. Here’s hoping it continues through the actual pick. Riley knows his BS has been called and both the Wolves and Seattle are sending signals loud and clear that they’re happy with whoever the Heat doesn’t pick so the Heat better take who they want or lose the guy. The Heat have since started to talk about Bayless but that’s insane. There’s no way they settle for Bayless instead of Mayo or Beasley. That’s crack head stupid.
