While the Wolves couldn't get their first win last night, word on the street is Kevin Love threw some sick outlet passes. Not only that, but Corey Brewer was apparently the recipient of more than a few of them as he hit 7 of his 10 shots. Solid, but unspectacular statistical performances (box score) from Chris Richard, Pooh Jeter, Blake Ahearn and Drew Neitzel.
First-round picks Batum, Bayless (both drafted this year) and Koponen (drafted last year) will be the guys to watch against Portland tonight. JR Pinnock and Josh Davis also have some NBA cred, and the Iceman cometh to Vegas tonight (Yes, I know it's a hackneyed joke, but you only get to make so many Jon Stefansson references per year).
It will be interesting to see if any of our guards can contain Jerryd Bayless, or Petteri Koponen for that matter. While Bayless has averaged 27 points on 40% shooting, the Fin has put up 18.5 points on 45% shooting (42% from downtown) and dished out 3 dimes per game.
For our beloved Wolves, it's decidedly uninteresting beyond Brewer and Love. Rodney Carney (via Zgoda) has apparently been sent home to deal with his hamstring. Craig Smith's re-signing means he'll probably suit up, I just hope he's stayed in shape this offseason.
In the end, the outcomes of these games mean absolutely nothing. But, seeing some growth from Brewer and getting a taste of what Kevin Love can do is more than enough for me.

I'll try again
but the NBA stream has been horrible for both games. Or maybe that’s a Mac issue—the NBA is exactly the kind of sports organization that would pee on the Mac platform.
But I’m happy regarding the team. Resigning Smith made me happy, seeing Corey knock down shots makes me ecstatic, and Love living up to his billing makes me delirious.
Love played center last night. Are they checking him out for that position, or is our Vegas team that short on height?

I think...
...they’re checking out what Love can do with interior defense. As for the stream, I have a Mac and I was able to stream it via the latest version of Firefox. It was a little choppy and it messed with some of the tabs, but I got it to run.

Since I don’t seem to be able to stream the game here in Minny, I just may have to stop on by.

Good lord...
...did Love really have 10 offensive rebounds?

Well, he had a lot of times where he was kinda blocked, put than picked it up, threw it up picked it up again and then threw it in … So that way it goes fast :D. BUT great effort off course + he got it in every time that way.

Stream on my Windows XP machine wouldn’t work in Firefox (it said “no video” in the frame where the video should have appeared). In Iexplorer it worked but when I dared pauzing or sometimes just at random moments the stream was stopped and I had to reseek it.
This all was the archive feed..
