Sixty years ago today, Marvin the Martian—who probably has Michael Jordan's cell number—made his first-ever appearance. Decades later, it's time to celebrate Sam Cassell. Come on! The dude looks like an alien. Lest you think we're being offensive, consider that the Pistons website promoted a Halloween-period game against Cassell's Clippers with a flash animation comparing him to Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Here now, a look at some of the best moments in the career of Cassell, who legitimately helped out the C's this year. Random food for thought, as an aside: Cassell, who has made one All-Star Team, has apparently made $57 million in his career to date. Sports salaries are ridiculous.
From ESPN the Magazine, a list of Sam I Am's greatest moments....all of which netted him $57 mil over the course of his career.

After thinking about that $57 million figure more...
... I think it’s offensive that this guys claiming Cassell’s wealth as proof that sports salaries are ridiculous.
Sam made that money over 15 years (an average of $3.8 million) and has never made more than $7 million in one year. He’s got 3 championship rings, 136 playoff appearances and averaged 15.7 ppg and 6 apg over his career. It’s ridiculous to think that Sam’s ever been overpaid.

Did you see...
...that Matt Geiger is suing some real estate company for failing to purchase his $21 million dollar home?
TAMPA – Former professional basketball player Matt Geiger is suing a Delaware-based company, saying it agreed to buy his Tarpon Springs property for $21 million but never followed through. In November, Geiger and Global Asset Holdings LLC entered into an agreement in a cash transaction for Geiger’s property, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court Monday.
In December, Geiger was offered $15 million by another potential buyer.
Sam may not be the best example, but…Matt Geiger?
