Yes we did!
Click here for the new official White House website. I have nothing to add. The moment speaks for itself. I'm so happy that I could watch this with my daughters. The benediction was the icing on the cake.

I think the part that made me say mayn hol up
the most was the man who spoke after Obama (was this the benediction?), when he said he dreamed of a country in which “the red man can get ahead, man.” (But perhaps this is a famous line?) Obama was great, but for me, that man, and that line, stole the show. Apologies for not knowing who he is.

That was Rev Joseph Lowery
He helped lead the Montgomery bus boycott. He has a street named for him in Atlanta. He’s the co-founder (with Dr. King) of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He’s also the guy who spoke truth to power at Coretta Scott King’s funeral, saying:
“We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. But Coretta knew and we know that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war billions more but no more for the poor!”
He also made note of Mrs. King’s support of gay rights. It caused a bit of a stir at the time because he said it in front of former president Bush and it was considered, by some, to be an inappropriate thing to say at a memorial. I seem to remember a certain GOP Senator form Minnesota comparing it to a certain Williams Arena memorial for a certain former DFL Senator from Minnesota.
I thought the most notable thing about his benediction was how heart felt and genuine it was in contrast to what Rick Warren brought to the table. I thought the highlight of the afternoon was the “amen” from the crowd after his benediction. Everyone did it. I was sitting around a conference table in a business office and we had 20 people shout it out.

I was almost as excited to see the helicopter take off...
…as I was to see Obama take the oath. It was fitting that Cheney had to be wheeled out. Although I was thinking it would have been more appropriate in something like this:
