So far it's looking pretty bad
Anyone find a stream for it that is working yet?
HOLLINS WITH THE SLAM!
Flynn just tossed him a lob down the baseline when his guy tried to front him, and after catching it underneath the hoop, Hollins went up from a few steps out and just flushed it over 2 defenders. It was awesome.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
Full extension 1 handed slam, that is. We haven’t seen something like that from a guy this size since KG was here.

And to further stress how cool it was, when he caught it, he was facing away from the hoop on the baseline a few steps out. So he had to catch it, gather himself and then go up, and he still got up fast enough (despite taking off facing the wrong direction and doing a 180) to throw it over the two help defenders. It was nasty.

They ought to give the deer
rifles too, just to make it interesting.

It would appear Corey has mastered the art of crashing into anything that moves..
..to draw a foul.
No player is going to benefit more from Rambis’ system than Brewer.
Interesting play by play entry:
4:13 MIN – R. Gomes hits the second free throw
4:13 MIN – R. Gomes hits the first free throw
4:13 MIN – Foul on J. Flynn
4:13 MIN – Personal foul on J. Flynn

Rambis must be a hell of a coach to have come up with that strategy.

It's got me baffled.
I dont think a coach has utilized this strategy since Flip left.
OK...
…I’m stealing that ;)

So even with a new everything, we still have Detroit's number it seems
Just like last year, when we lost and lost and lost and lost and then out of nowhere smoked Detroit by like 30.
Woah!
10:12 DET – Personal foul on J. Jerebko
10:13 DET – Personal foul on R. Hamilton
10:25 DET – Personal foul on R. Hamilton
10:30 DET – Personal foul on R. Hamilton
And it doesn’t appear to be a hiccuup as Hamilton now has 5 fouls. For some reason, the boys are playing well tonight!

that was the possession of the game..
….it put the wolves in the bonus with less than 2 minutes gone in the quarter

This is exactly what I want to see from
Ellington and Gomes all year. Extremely efficient when taking easy shots. Nothing more.
Sounds like he’s made about 5 tonight (to go with some long jumpers). Brewer figuring it out would make for a great story line this season.

no kidding..
…he looked a little like george gervin on that last finger roll…well, perhaps that is a bit of a stretch ;)

So, on the whole, would you describe what you’re feeling as excited?

Few thoughts
- they won’t shoot this well again, but it looked like they stopped experimenting and found more rhythm offensively
- Rodney Stuckey had one of those “is it my birthday?” games and the Pistons shot pretty well
- who’s going to be in the Pistons’ rotation? They didn’t play Austin Daye, Ben Wallace, Kwame Brown, or DaJuan Summers
- the defense was scrappy and helped spark their run
- Sessions looks like he’s holding the ball too much on offense
- their outside shooting has to become less Jekyll-and-Hyde

I'm beginning to think...
…that Sessions is going to have a short life in a Wolves uniform.

It's good to know
that we can take care of business against the one team with less height than us. Though I suppose we’ll take care of the Rockets then too…
Looking forward to seeing the highlights when I get home from work...
until then, some questions:
1. How is Sessions doing? Is Flynn the starter on opening night?
2. Hollins and foul trouble…. what gives?
3. Is this a false dawn for The White Hole or are we on the event horizon of something interesting this season?
4. Wilkins was +7 tonight….good defensive work?
Judd: "...I've since watched some Steven Seagal movies and I realise that pressure points are no laughing matter.".
Wilkins seems to have some Cardinal in him, at least based on what I’ve seen during the preseason. He’s not all that talented, but he hits some shots, plays some D, gets some boards and in general plays tough. Could be a useful role model, actually.

Here's the numbers for Brewer
7 games
15ppg
3.7rpg
1.7apg
1.6spg
0.7bpg
39% shooting (from 2 and 3) and he’s getting to the line a rather alarming 7.3 times per game, and hitting 73% of his free throws.
Logically you’d expect his rebounding a steals numbers to rise….and if he can keep up this pace on the offensive end….ladies and gentlemen, we have a ball player.
Um, to everyone asking about Sessions...
I agree he should play more, BUT….
The reality is right now he’s shooting 33%. That’s what’s keeping him off the court.
Anyone want to be momentarily depressed?
Then check out Songaila’s line against GS in starters minutes… but wait… let us all realize that a) it is against the Warriors and b) it’s just a fluke.
I'm guessing GS's starting fronline...
…of Maggette/Moore may have had something to do with Songaila’s performance.
However, there is something depressing to be found in that box score. Check out Stephen Curry’s monster line: 14 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, 6 steals, and a game-high +41.
