GameThread #10: vs. Dallas

Dallas Mavericks at Minnesota Timberwolves, Nov 13, 2009 7:00 PM CST

68415_mavericks_clippers_basketball_medium

Tonight the Wolves will be without Al Jefferson as he tends to family matters. While trotting out a lineup of Flynn/Brewer/Gomes/Pecherov/Hollins may not be very attractive, tonight will give the Wolves a chance to operate the quasi-triangle without Big Al. Al's by no means on the hot seat right now but he hasn't looked like his old self yet this year. No doubt he's still feeling the effects of injury, but Al is no longer the focal point of the offense and ball movement hasn't exactly been his strength in the past.

Sure is nice to not be listening to the Blazers announcers this time

That jab step jumper is money for Hollins. Oddly, I don’t recall him having much success catching and shooting when he’s wide open though. If he could add that he’d immediately become much more valuable.

Hollins certainly looks like a guy who spent a ton of time practicing against Dirk

If he can do tonight what he did against Aldridge last Wednesday, we have a pretty solid chance tonight.

That baseline spin is money for Brewer

He’s been using that since his days with the Gators.

Erica Dampier just realized he was 4 inches taller than anyone else on the court and took it to the rack..

Why can Pavlovic not catch?

Every time he goes for the ball near the sidelines, he drops it out of bounds…

Bahaha, the users on the Gamefaqs NBA board have dubbed the Portland/New Orleans game POR-NO

And since the teams have combined for just 20 points in the first quarter, they’re going nuts with the porno jokes….

This POR-NO is being badly directed
Not a lot of scoring going on in this POR-NO
Nobody can get it in the hole, tonight

Oh, this is priceless…

While the S&R General board has a better sense of humor...

So again, we play better without Jefferson or Love...

What do we make of this…? It’s happening enough now to draw finite conclusions from it…

I think I am going to join the Trade Big Al camp, but hopefully after he regains his health and we can showcase his game to get better value. My avatar will not let me suggest trading Love, and he seems young enough with more potential to affect Wins that Al.

Shooting 4 for 22

will get that done. Four made shots – 2 dunks, a 4 footer, and a 6 footer. What are we 7 yeras old? Sprinkle in a few TOs and 3 for 6 from the line and viola! Eleven points. We’re on the short end of a 13-2 run right now. Please, please, let it not get to a 66-33 run for the third straight game.

I've loved Infinity Ward since CoD1.

Along with Bioware, they were the only other developer that had my pre-order guaranteed (speaking of, Dragon Age rules). The dedicated server change is something I can’t support. Period.

Anyways, if I want to play their five hours of campaign, I’ll just pirate it out of spite. :D

Yeah, I've heard modest things about that.

L4D2 gets kind of a shrug from me. I dunno. There’s something about me and Source engine-ish stuff that doesn’t work well. I played L4D for a while, but never really got too much of a kick out of it. I honestly had more fun with max difficulty campaigns with 4 buddies than I did with versus. Then all my buddies wanted to play versus. shrug
