Allen Iverson Waived ("The Answer" for Timberwolves?)
Could A I be the anwer for the Timberwolves at the 2 guard? He would be a veteran leader to teach flynn and sessions, he's a one year contract, and he would actually impact our team and finally get Corey Brewer out of the starting lineup! He will still put up decent number, be a leader, and help our team at the same time! Think, this is a one year option so we still have our money for Lebron, or Wade or Rudy Gay or anyone in the offseason, so what could this really hurt?

The things Iverson would "teach" Flynn and Sessions
are NOT the things we want them to learn.

What's that supposed to mean?
He’s not that bad of guy, he’s just like TO and is knitpicked on every little thing he does wrong

Because TO is such a model teammate and mentor
Nobody questions the talent of these two, just the attitude. Something tells me that Rambis (and Laimbeer!) wouldn’t take too kindly to “Practice?”
Ten times worse fit than Al in the triangle, and it has very little to do with basketball skills and very much to do with people skills.

I don't think I could see him
on the team, that I would go out there and die for!

I see absolutely no positives for this team
He may not be “that bad of a guy”, but he deserves a lot of the criticism he gets. At his best he was still a ball-dominating, severely undersized, flow-killing shooting guard. Granted, the guy was absurdly talented, especially for his size. He wasn’t a team player or great locker room presence, however. To think that just because he’s a (formerly) good, knowledgeable veteran player that he’d be a leader is naive and especially untrue for this player.
What does he do for this team? Take all of the problems I already mentioned, and then add the fact that he’s now a past-his-prime malcontent who will take up mintues of developing players while “teaching” these young players bad habits and “leading” them by the example of “me first” and in all the wrong ways to play basketball. There’s a reason that only the Memphis frigging Grizzlies wanted this possible future HOFer. He’s never had the right attitude and he won’t do anything but hurt this team on and off the court.

You know what?
We can’t come within ten points of anyone we get on the court with. We’re hell to watch. It might hurt our draft position, but screw it, it’d be fun. I don’t buy into the notion that he’d turn our locker room into Motley Crue: Behind The Music just through a contact high. Do you really not want to know what it would be like to have Bill Laimbeer coach Allen Iverson? Heck, I’m not sure our draft position would be hurt that badly. I’m all in on this. I’ve got a question, and the only cure is an answer.

What if The Answer is a lie?
Wouldn’t you rather have The Truth?

Us get THE TRUTH
Ya right, I believe in this too!

Not worth it
They’re not starting him over Brewer, who needs to shoot less not play less. He’s a guy who can only fit in certain situations due to his stubbornness about not coming off the bench. It doesn’t help this team beyond a few extra wins this season at the expense of developing guys who have a future.

What about
Rashad McCants? I hear he can shoot the ball a lot of score sometimes, while having a crappy attitude and subpar defense.

Now we're talking, Rashad McCants is my boy
He’s better than AI right now though! I’ll tell you one thing I know for sure, we need to make a change to win in this league

Apparently the Knicks are interested

Great article on the Onion 'bout AI
The title says it all. “Memphis Grizzlies Continue To Insist They Have 5 Players Better Than Allen Iverson”

DO. NOT. WANT.
I wanted him very badly when KG was still here and really loved his style of play when he was younger … but since we’re already gonna have bad record .. let Ellington and Brewer have some minutes!

What's Brewer done to earn those minutes
His defense isn’t even that good and his offense is worse than Brian Cardinals. He’s terrible to be in this league!

He’s played about 1 1/2 seasons. No one knows what he’ll become. AI is what he is, and it’s not something that a young team looking to develop players should be taking on. He’s the best defender on the team and the catalyst for most of their fast break points so far this year.

Corey Brewer Needs to stay out of the offense, we need to stay away from the triangle, unless we get a big who can pass and a shooter! We need Jonny Flynn to run the pick and roll and get a shooter who will knock down shots! We need to free roam more, and make Jonny run his offense and don’t waste himi and try to do it with that Brewer fella!

for what?
For more wins? For a 40-win future?
Your goals are clearly different from Kahn’s and Rambis’s. They champion player development and long-term investment. The things you suggest would give us a few more wins at the expense of developing our players.
It’s irreconcilable, and it’s been discussed too much, both here and elsewhere. You don’t have to like the plan, but you might as well accept it.

Can you honestly tell the difference
when they are and aren’t in the triangle? Gomes said we run it about 50% of the time. So the other 50% of the time we are that much better off?

We just need to get Flynn back to his
college days when he ran the whole offense and hit the shooters (Devendorf and Rautins) which the T’wolves need, he’ll either take it to the hole, hit a shooter, or hit the roller, none of which we have right now. This would jack up his stats the teams points and our winning percentage, and sessions is capable of running the same thing!

Yes … but in due course.
We are in position to fill up that wings with guys who can shoot. We got multiple draft picks, free agency cash, …
BUT
Why not use this time to figure out who our 7th and 8th men are going to be. Nobody thinks Brewer will keep getting the green light and that much minutes down the road, that doesn’t mean we can’t give ’m to him now to see if he can be a 7th or 8th man for us or not…

I understand what your saying
But just hate watching us suck and not successfully using our weapons to test guys and watching a boring team night after night
