wow
Pecherov had the most pathetic attempt at a putback I’ve ever seen, even though he got fouled. He barely got up on his tippy toes.

Corey off to his usual good news/bad news game...
1-4 shooting. But already with a steal and 2 assists…
Can the Wolves hold a lead after the 1st?

What up Hollins!! Welcome to the 2nd quarter!
2 offensive rebounds and the put-back.
Evil empire…. I was reading the Twins mailbag and they expect payroll to rise from the mid-65s to 85-90 million. Mostly to retain the current roster. We might climb into the top 20 in payroll!
I read the same thing
Hopefully that’s a continuing trend with the payroll. Although I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if Nathan gets traded.
It is a pleasure to watch Rambis work
We’ve changed out most of the lineup, things still make sense…. When they cut to him he’s got the little wry smile on his mouth…. He’s just calming.
or just go anywhere on the venice beach boardwalk

Rebounding rate, and he plays okay D
The Dale Davis junior effect. He’s out from under being the former #5 pick.
He’s a consumate role player. Ask him to rebound and defend and don’t ask him to score, and he’s golden.
I get the feeling
That they wanted to add more size and athleticism to the frontcourt instead of another undersized, earthbound power post player. I like him too, but it’s possible they found him redundant and not worth the money (especially given his low ceiling).
"They" being the Wolves?
Yeah, that’s about right.
Goes to show you, though, you build a roster as a coherent group.
That's the biggest problem I've always had with our roster
Adding talent, but not a very coherent group yet in terms of ability, size, skill. We’re much like the Warriors in that we’re adding talent but it doesn’t quite fit or makes sense long-term. I really hope we have a plan and stick to it and deal with this roster accordingly.
Honestly I'm still surprised by Rambis's rotations
Despite a roster assembled on the fly over one summer with the four best players seemingly at two positions, everything Kurt R. puts out there seems to make sense.
Just imagine
What we can do when we accumulate more talent and a more cohesive group. We’ve got a while to figure out who we are and who we have, and once we get to where we want to be I think Rambis will look even better. The fact that he’s getting this much out of this weak of a team already is a great sign. It’s an admittedly small sample size, but still encouraging given this roster.
We rely on Cardinal too much...
I mean, we’re not exactly a deep team, but asking him to carry the scoring load for the second unit is just asking for problems…
I cannot f'ing believe
That Sheed is a bench player for boston.
i hope to see that as a post

I think he's still under contract
Or did he get bought out when I wasn’t paying attention?
Al getting emotional
After getting beat by Perk, goes 1 on 3 trying to return the favor and hits the side of the backboard. C’mon man, pass the ball.
Yeah, that was ugly
And he played decent D on Perkins, he just got beat.
Yet has 2 assists
The triangle has forced him to move the ball more, despite the occasional lapses to the contrary

Those of you with the Basketball Propectus or with Insider
Go read Hollinger’s and/or BB Pro’s take on Pecherov.
…
…
Who the hell is this guy we have?
Basically
They both think he’s a project at best, with a low ceiling, and is shooting himself out of the league. They make him sound like a 11-12th man.
Well
He’s our best or second best shooter, and our best or second best rebounder so far. Don’t be me wrong, he’s got a lot of holes in his game, and the early could success could be small sample size problems. But if this guy was, say, a late 1st rounder rather than a trade throw-in, we’d be pretty damn pleased right now
So it's when he makes a shot?

Actually hurt?
Or in-game hurt for 30 seconds like he used to do constantly?
Good times
Did you see he’s averaging 8.5 points a game, even less than last year? His transformation to Jason Kidd is almost complete.
by Rascal Flatts on Nov 4, 2009 8:08 PM CST up reply actions
that type of game fits in a little better with Washington
With Butler and Arenas jacking up 75% of the shots
I don't disagree,
except for the fact he’s one of the best 3-pt shooters on the planet. He should easily be giving them 12 – 15 ppg in an efficient manner.

Flynn is flat-out outplaying Rondo.
It’s not really close. Here’s hoping Rambis doesn’t yank him for the game after one turnover…
If Rondo could shoot...
He would be murdering us. I’ve never seen a pro player get that much room. Shaq on the perimeter is guarded closer than that.
lol
Booby Gibson is probably a satellite by now.
I'm not a huge fan
But he’s pretty damn good. But you’re right, he does have that Rick Fox thing going. I wonder how good he’d be without 4 hall of famers on his team.
He played a big part in that championship.
Rondo is ten times the player Rick Fox ever was. The Celtics have a Big Four.

Django Z's ref remark
Uh, yeah, this feels like the team that’s supposed to win is getting back the pace of play and its legs, partly through ref magic.
Me too.
Reminded me of Canseco. The source is discredited, but can the NBA really dispute make-up calls?

Hyup
Donaghy isn’t making general observations, he’s naming names and giving specific examples. I think he’s just made the NBA look itself in the face — more than Canseco, even, with baseball.
If it all results in Joey Crawford leaving, I’ll be okay with that. I’ve never seen anything like Crawford ejecting Duncan for laughing on the bench, or calling the foul on Chauncey when it was Crawford himself who knocked the guy out.
Wow these refs SUCK!
Obviously they sent the Vikings v. Steelers refs to all the Timberwolves games.
These arent ticky-tack calls either, these are pretty obvious and blatant calls that the average fan can see.

as a wolves fan..i've felt the pain of being screwed before..but none this bad..
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU BLOW 3 FUCKING CALLS IN less than 7 FUCKING SECONDS!..The Wolves should have had more time on that final shot too..These Refs should be investigated by the League.
Surely not for betting.
The Wolves more than made the spread on that game.
They should definitely be scrutinized. I think every game should get a complete review from the league office, with scores for the refs.
Another encouraging showing.
Some good things tonight. Stewie, FTW.
Another interesting KG blurb there...
“They were doubling with the young guy, he didn’t seem to know what he was doing.”
Kevin Garnett..Such a Hasbeen..
So he starts talking all this shit now that he left us and got his ring…go Figure..
HE HAS PLAYED 5 GAMES IN THE NBA
how about we wait until he’s played 100 games before we decide that for him, eh?
No
I want to know now.
Haha jk, was just curious because the commentators on the stream I was watching were talking about him looking like a scorer. I don’t know much about his game, so I don’t know whether he has the skills to become a playmaker pg.
Well done guys.
Celtic fan here. I’m not here to rub it in guys, I’m here to tell you guys you deserved the win more than we did.
I don’t agree with your calling out the refs though, I think the calls weren’t correct.
The game was too close for words most of the time though. I survived about 12 heart attacks in that 4th quarter. You guys really impressed me. I do think our D was crap tonight, but seriously, impressive game.
Good luck out there guys.

Class move
Thanks.
Uh, nice little league-dominant roster you got there…. Shoot, it’s kind’ve hard to be generous or gracious when they don’t need it. ;-)
Not a fan of moral victories
but this is heartening at least. Can i retract my post on the other thread about the Wolves being slaughtered worse than the Palin family hunting from a plane?
The Boston media...I mean ESPN...has a different take on that last play
“But Garnett made two beautiful interior passes for layups earlier in the final period, then forced a jump ball with Corey Brewer on an amazing defensive play with 3.6 seconds to play to seal the win.”
