Getting Wade, LeBron, and CP3 to the Wolves
Hey there, Hoopers. I hope you're enjoying the season so far. As you probably guess, I read this site on a daily basis, looking for feedback and insight from people who know and care about the Wolves almost as much as I do.
I was inspired by this post from yesterday, and I have a hypothetical toss-out to you:
Glen Taylor recently mentioned that he thought we had the assets and cap room to bring in an All-Star in free agency or trade. He's right, of course, but I always thought we could bring in at least two big-time players. But then I thought, "Hey, why not shoot for the moon, and try to bring in three of the best players in the NBA right here to the Twin Cities?"
Rather than wear out my fingers on ESPN's trade machine (besides, that jerk Bill Simmons is always using up the available bandwidth), I thought I'd check with my favorite Wolves fans first. Here are your parameters:
1. We have to get Wade, LeBron, and Chris Paul on the Wolves roster.
2. It has to be done in a way that's at least mildly acceptable to each of their current teams--and fans.
3. Free agency, sign-and-trade, straight trades--whatever it takes
4. All of our current picks and players are available--including the rights to Rubio.
5. We still have to have a passable set of players left over to complement the Biggest Three Ever.
6. We'll take back a bad contract or two, but we'd like to stay around $85 million or so in annual salary for the coming years.
What have you got for me? The best answer gets the free tanning coupons that Marko Jaric forget to take out of his locker when he left.
Sincerely,
Definitely Not David Kahn

I wouldn't really like it if we had all three of them.
It would just be the all-star game, not the Timberwolves.
big 3
first of I don’t think wade would work with this so i will leave him out.
trade flynn and rights to rubio with a couple 2nd round picks to get paul then do what it takes to be able to draft cole aldrich then just sell lebron that we can win instantly and for years to come and throw the entire state at him
i could see our 6deep being paul at pg, who cares at the 2, lebron at 3 then a rotation of al, love and aldrich in the 4-5 spots noone would be able to match with that
Sorry, but I don't see any possible way that the 'Wolves could even acquire ONE of those players, let alone all three.
Love.
Newsflash:
We don’t think it’s a realistic scenario, either. It’s a thought experiment for armchair GMs. Read a bit more of this blog’s content before you come a-trolling.
We just like our comments to actually add value
The issue with your opinion, is that you say there is no possible way (you do allude to doubt with the "I don’t think" line). That’s not true. It’s not too far off the mark, as the wolves getting anyone of these players is very unlikely, but the manner in which it is written tends to hijack threads by getting people to respond to defend their view instead of answer the original question. Hence the trolling comment.

Find a way
to sneak 6 mil under the table to Rubio so he can buy out his contract, then Lebron will come here to play along side Rubio, he’s our point so we dont need CP3, Love and Jeff round out the rest of the starters. then all you need is to find a way to get quality backups and you have an instant contendor.
