Nice

1) Does he think Love and Jefferson are a winning front court duo
2) Would he take John Wall is we got the #1 pick (or maybe just who would he take)
3) Is the team going to run the triangle all year even though it limits Jonny Flynn

Even though I'm pretty naive in the ways of de kill

I actually had that exact type of “which strain of weed” question in mind if you were the one asking it. Great minds think alike. Also, loving the fact that MAYNHOLUP watches Lost and is a Locke fan. Best character on my favorite drama.

As far as questions I’d have, I guess I’d wonder how much of our gameplan is banking on current players and how much is banking on future additions.

He probably won't be able to answer anything

about players in college or on other teams, at least in terms of them coming to this team. I don’t know what their rules are for that kind of stuff, but I know he’s gonna be stingy with the info. I’ll try to think of a couple questions tho in the next day or two.

I don't care what you ask him . . .

but I would like you to provide a written transcript of the conversation, for which I will gladly pay you a considerable sum of money.

It would practically be worth the

cost of season tickets alone just to be able to attend alongside Mr. Mayn.

Please

A little respect for Dr. Holup!

Wow

You know how married people start talking like each other and finishing each other’s sentences over time. Would be interesting if these two starting talking like each other and finishing thoughts by the end of the dinner!

My top 3 questions would be

1) Is the team more likely to do a deadline trade or wait until summer free agency with their cap space?

2) Why did they pick up Brewer’s option?

3) Is Sessions a long-term Wolf? If so, why hasn’t he been given a shot at starting since he is more experienced?

I like number one

But ask if he is still sticking to his 2011 target, which if that was the case he probably wouldn’t be a player in the FA market this off season?

Brewer got picked up because he is worth it. If he can develop a decent shot he will be one of the best players on our team. 3M really isn’t that much, especially if he doesn’t plan on being a player in FA til 2011.

My question

is Any Chance that we are going to dump guys like Sasha Pavlovic or Oleksiy Pecherov @ the deadline to bring in players?

by TonyO on Dec 7, 2009 10:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

David Kahn says:

“We’re constantly looking for any way to improve our team. If something comes along then we’ll take it. I would single out Pavlovic or Pecherov because if the right deal comes along for anyone, we can’t turn it down. But yes we are looking and keeping our ears open.”

I think Blount is sitting on his couch

watching the games and collecting a paycheck. He won’t negotiate lower because he doesn’t care about helping a team (even though he couldn’t really) and he wouldn’t get enough money to make it worth it.

I see a spot in Houston for Blount

sometime around the trade deadline. Memphis is another possibility.

Oh man

This is the best post I’ve read in quite some time! I hope you got a Flip videocamera, as I would love to see some video of you interviewing DK.

My questions surround the impact our two Eurostars are going to have on the long term plans of the Wolves. First, is Pekovic going to get a sniff with the Wolves or is he trade bait? Posters here have pointed out the respect for Al Jefferson’s low post scoring makes it easier for KLove to do what he does. But to get value in trades, you have to give value. Is Pekovic going to influence this one way or the other?

And second, Rubio seems like a perfect PG for the triangle: he’s an outstanding passer and facilitator, and seems to come from the KLove school of basketball in that he makes everyone around him better. Plus his biggest weaknesses-athleticism and iso-offense/shooting, are mitigated by his size/smarts (see: lack of athleticism and Battier) and by the triangle (all about spacing and ball movement). If this is all true, and Rubio comes over here, is the team going to start stockpiling the kinds of shooters and athletes who can get to the rim who would benefit most from playing with a Rubio type passer? Maybe it seems obvious that the team would, but I think if Flynn and Sessions were your guys you might opt for some slightly different skillsets in your targeted players.

What will Kahn answer?

You have to remember that Kahn cannot answer much about players on other teams, so you ca waste your time asking him if you want to, or you can focus on questions he can answer, like:

  • Which of the players that are not under contract next year have exceeded expectations?
  • What satistics does he believe are best indicators of a player’s value?

I like that second question

Kind of gives us a better insight into what could actually happen when making up trades.

Agree

and would lead to more in depth hypothesizing on the CH.

Roll one for me Mayn!!

I think this is the key point

“I don’t care what you ask him but I would like you to provide a written transcript of the conversation, for which I will gladly pay you a considerable sum of money.”

But do ask him about his drug preferences, and bring something to play him some Z-Ro and Freddie Gibbs. You will be walking out of there with a job, and Fred Hoiberg will be leaving without one.
