Shooter, at his best:

"Orono grad Jon Leuer, 6 feet 10, 225, is shooting 51 percent while averaging 14 points, five rebounds and one block as a junior for Wisconsin. Some people think Leuer, who scored 17 points in the Badgers' victory over Duke last week, has the potential to be an NBA lottery draft pick."

Mental note-never believe anything Charlie has to say about the NBA again. Not that I have anything against Leuer, but please. Lottery?

who exactly is "some people"

That sounds like me or some guy I was chatting with in the bar.

Yes, he will definitely be early pick

for the Zhaing-Hso Dragons in the Chinese Developmental League.

Oh, you meant the NBA? Why? Is there no film left of Paul Grant from which we can predict the likelihood of Leuer’s success at the higher level?

Shooter, PLEASE! Stick to telling us whether or not the assistant tennis pro at the Minikhada Country Club had a baby boy yet.

I actually kind of like Shooter, although with a grain of salt

What I’ve never figured out though is why they had him start writing an extra column each week. He had a hard enough time avoiding the “played for Cretin as a back up 2nd baseman in 1975” before adding the extra column.

I'm a sucker for his column,

and it’s the first (sometimes only) thing I read at the PiPress. That said, it should still be called “Shit I Make Up That Prolly Won’t Come True But Still It’s Fun To Think About Isn’t It”
