McHale said he will ask the league if there's an exemption for season-ending injuries that would allow them to sign a NBA Development League player even though they have a full but battered 15-man roster.
"There are a couple guys in the D League we like," said McHale, whose team also could waive veteran Calvin Booth (two months left on an expiring $1.1 million contract) and sign a player.

Umm...
Even though it’s small, doesn’t this seem like something “GM” Jim Stack should be doing instead of McHale?
NOTHING has changed in the front office.
Good catch
That’s something that bears watching for the rest of the season. Maybe McHale’s ego doesn’t allow him to say, “Hey, I’m the coach. Talk to Jim about the roster,” but I doubt it. Hopefully a media person with access will broach that subject with Coach McHale.
yep..
….this just reinforces the earlier comments.

Infuriating
Both the fact that McHale is doing it AND the fact they they don’t just cut Booth and be done with it. Preposterous.
I’m waiting for the Wolves to sit on their hands for two weeks and then they’ll piss and moan when Pops and Hendrix have been picked up and they’ll decide to just keep booth because no one else is worth it.
speaking of the D-league,
anyone been keeping track of Blake Ahearn? Check this out:
He shot 15 for 24 (inluding 5 of 9) from deep on his way to 41 points and also grabbed 8 rebounds on the night.
I know he doesn’t exactly fit into the Wolves’ plans, but I hope he sticks somewhere.
If only to let Bassy have a breather...
….while keeping Foye off the ball.

Blake
he was player of the week last week, shooting about 50% from the field, averageing 7assists. He looks really good right now, but I’m like you, don’t know how he’ll fit in right now.
Sometimes the obvious is hidden.

they need another guard and another bigman to spread out a few minutes since Ollie and Brewer are hurt in addition to Jefferson and Craig Smith.

I am really, really loving the D-league site (ridiculous upside) right now -
This is incredible, check it out!:

Amazing! Check out the “female dogs” part in the small print for extra laughs. Hoopus night in Des Moines, anyone? ;)
That's awesome..
….i wish Target Center would have a dog night. I want a Wolves bandanna.

Awesome but...
You don’t get a bandana. Just your dog. And only if it’s olde r than six months, not in heat, has current rabies vaccination, and you buy a ticket for you and your dog in advance.
GOOOO D-League!
Ridiculous? I think Not.
Upside? Plenty.

that's what i meant to say...
..“for my dog”. Although, with Axl Rose somewhat back in the public eye, I do have a hankering for a bandanna and a kilt.
