i heard that tubby

is demanding that they build a new state of the art facility so that he can take the program to the ‘next level,’ whatever that is.

lets hope that the recession kills that stupid idea off.

He just wants a New Practice Facility…..

he’ll get it too. BTW: speaking of gophers, how many steps can Pryz take on a moving screen?

well that's reassuring!

i only follow scraps of the news out here and had the wrong idea…

as for the jump-into-the-defender shot,

i have to admit admiring the degree of finesse that someone like kobe has in deploying it successfully. when foye does it (what game was that where he botched a final shot going for this call?) i just feel a little sad.

do you think he has any particular strengths?

there’ve been a couple of defensive plays tonight where they could have put a folding chair on the court for better effect.

Why take Love out with 3 fouls?

Let him learn how to play with 3 fouls. I’ll never get why coaches are so quick to pull guys after 3 fouls before the half, especially with this much time left. These minutes are just as valuable as the ones at the end of the game. If he fouls out, he probably loses just as much time (if less) than what he will with the 6 1/2 minutes left in the half when he went to the bench. That would be an interesting thing to figure out: how much production is lost because of that.

His lack of shooting should land him reduced minutes. We need some points out there, the rest of his line is lackluster, so he isn’t making up for it anywhere else.

that would be fine if Miller shot it rather than dumping it out to Bassy for the sole purpose of giving Love another Oreb chance!

by CaliWolf on Mar 7, 2009 11:13 PM CST up reply actions

especially...

…with the sets they run. They have really been going with a lot of weaves since Big Al went down and one of the big benefits of this is that once the defense over rotates, you can get the guy at the top of the key moving in the direction of the ball for an open 3 and this leaves the middle of the defense as where the rotation has to come from. It should be there whenever they want it.

yeah..

..if he could finish at the rim with any aptitude at all he is a legit starter for a playoff team. Every time I see him I am blown away at how quick he is and how easily he can get to anywhere. Too bad he can’t do much when he gets there.

by CaliWolf on Mar 7, 2009 11:12 PM CST up reply actions

No matter what happens...

..with this game, I think it illustrates the problem with the Blazers if they want to go far: the point and their lack of pace with the types of players they have on the roster. I have no idea why they don’t put Outlaw out there at the 4 more often and go up and down. They have so much flexibility with their roster and you just don’t see as much variety as I think they should show. Also, Blake isn’t going to do it. Neither is Bayless.
