they're 2 years away from being really dangerous...
…especially if those 2 local recruits are the real deal.

it's nice to see...
…a good atmosphere back at the Barn though. It’s one of the best basketball atmospheres in the country when it’s full and a good team is on the floor.

Agreed...The Student Section use to be so dull their...
Today…I’ve never had more fun..haha sneaking into the student section is fantastic haha…but that Student Section was off the charts…
i heard that tubby
is demanding that they build a new state of the art facility so that he can take the program to the ‘next level,’ whatever that is.
lets hope that the recession kills that stupid idea off.

the fancy practice facility to get recruits
he’ll get it too. BTW: speaking of gophers, how many steps can Pryz take on a moving screen?

well that's reassuring!
i only follow scraps of the news out here and had the wrong idea…
even so, its hard to justify that kind of outlay in this economy, but that’s how the machine turns i guess.

also i'll keep my eye on pryz
i’d been focusing on the purported defensive three sec violations that the commentators seem obsessed with

it is amazing..
….how he can get that foot on the line. I wonder how many he has for the year. Worst shot in basketball.

there should be a metric for that
combine it with the “unassist” numbers to reveal the extent of unrealized potential

even on the jump-into-the-defender shot..
…he stepped on the line. BTW: that’s the weakest call in all of basketball. It shouldn’t be called.

as for the jump-into-the-defender shot,
i have to admit admiring the degree of finesse that someone like kobe has in deploying it successfully. when foye does it (what game was that where he botched a final shot going for this call?) i just feel a little sad.

it was the Miami game...

so are we getting any sense of shelden williams yet?
i haven’t really seen him save for tonight…

i think he's headed down the road....
…of Kirk Snyder.

do you think he has any particular strengths?
there’ve been a couple of defensive plays tonight where they could have put a folding chair on the court for better effect.

Why take Love out with 3 fouls?
Let him learn how to play with 3 fouls. I’ll never get why coaches are so quick to pull guys after 3 fouls before the half, especially with this much time left. These minutes are just as valuable as the ones at the end of the game. If he fouls out, he probably loses just as much time (if less) than what he will with the 6 1/2 minutes left in the half when he went to the bench. That would be an interesting thing to figure out: how much production is lost because of that.

especially
given mchale’s occasional penchant for leaving him sitting so long late in the game!

and the early sub problem is magnified
by the fact that the value of any replacement we have for him is comparatively so low.

Preposterous Statement by Hanny and J-Pete
Maybe Randy Foye can be Lebron James- Mo Williams Esque when this team is shaped into Championship Form….
really?
That’s a bit over the top.
The World's Leading Exporter of Small Area Quickness
www.canishoopus.com
Yeah...
They were talking about how Lebron had a Triple Double and Mo was 5-6 from 3 tonight and Hanny Was Like “Hopefully Someday Randy Foye…” and J-Pete Goes…"When this team is shaped into championship form.
i've got the portland guys here...
they’re amazing at not concealing that they’re just reading stats off a page anytime they have to talk about the wolves personnel and season.

it would be nice to see...
…him put it all together. If ever you could build someone to what a basketball player should look like, it is him.

sometimes..
….i think McHale forgets who is on his bench. I have no idea why he wouldn’t be out there for a bit.
The World's Leading Exporter of Small Area Quickness

yep..
….BTW: i think we’re getting a peak at why Bayless doesn’t play much. Wow. Just doesn’t seem to have any clue with regard to the flow of the game.

Blazers tv guys are saying...
…that Love’s dad had some “interesting things” to say about Minny’s management on a Portland talk show last week. Anyone know what that’s about?

nope, but i'm very curious myself
by secretarykissinger on Mar 7, 2009 10:58 PM CST up reply actions
they were quick to say..
…that he lied about Portland not working out Love. In a quick Google search I found this nugget:
http://www.spinner.com/2008/11/16/rock-almanac-november-16-2008/
On This Date in 1988: Stan Love, former Beach Boys manager and brother of frontman Mike Love, is sentenced to five years’ probation for embezzling $300,000 from the band.

at the risk of Blazers fans returning...
..I am unimpressed with everybody except Roy. And as smooth as he is, is he really the best player on a Champion?
He reminds me of Scottie Pippen
I think he’s good enough to lead a balanced team but not as a head honcho. I think his value is being able to blend into the game and still produce.
The World's Leading Exporter of Small Area Quickness
www.canishoopus.com
whoops..
…not all the way as a head honcho.

yeah, we got it
actually, i like rudy. and outlaw intrigues me. not as all-stars, but solid, or potentially so
Mike Miller
His lack of shooting should land him reduced minutes. We need some points out there, the rest of his line is lackluster, so he isn’t making up for it anywhere else.
gotta keep that space open
can go pinwheeling through there on every other possession

SO THAT MIKE MILLER
can go pinwheeling. … etc. etc

especially...
…with the sets they run. They have really been going with a lot of weaves since Big Al went down and one of the big benefits of this is that once the defense over rotates, you can get the guy at the top of the key moving in the direction of the ball for an open 3 and this leaves the middle of the defense as where the rotation has to come from. It should be there whenever they want it.
The World's Leading Exporter of Small Area Quickness
www.canishoopus.com
yeah..
..if he could finish at the rim with any aptitude at all he is a legit starter for a playoff team. Every time I see him I am blown away at how quick he is and how easily he can get to anywhere. Too bad he can’t do much when he gets there.
No matter what happens...
..with this game, I think it illustrates the problem with the Blazers if they want to go far: the point and their lack of pace with the types of players they have on the roster. I have no idea why they don’t put Outlaw out there at the 4 more often and go up and down. They have so much flexibility with their roster and you just don’t see as much variety as I think they should show. Also, Blake isn’t going to do it. Neither is Bayless.

it was...
…Gomes had his hands down for the pick and Foye picked up his dribble before passing to no one in particular. This will be a frustrating loss. The lack of a bench really killed them tonight.

I rarely get to see Wolves games...
..but I am 90% sure that every game I have seen Foye play he has literally just tossed the ball out of bounds or directly into a defender’s hands at least once, with no apparent reason. He will never be a pg, except in the triangle.
Exactly the shot they wanted...
…tough break.
