Taylor repeatedly had said McHale himself would decide whether he returns, ever since Taylor sent his personnel decision-maker from the front office to the coach's bench in early December.
He reversed course last week, telling the Star Tribune the new boss won't be obligated to retain McHale.
From the Strib. Finally, Papa Glen takes responsibility. This should have happened many, many years ago....while KG was still here and before 3 consecutive drafts with high picks were mismanaged. It's nice to see PG finally doing the right thing, even though it may be a tad too late. Here's hoping for the best.

Before we get too excited
the 4th to last paragraph from this same article says:
“Taylor seemingly has pursued assistant general managers rather than executives who already hold the top job with their teams, presumably because of cost efficiency in these troubled economic times and his timeline.”
This is just another statement solidifying what I have been hearing regarding the TWolves commitment to “cost effciency” (ie Taylor’s cheapness)
Hoops World rumors said that Lindsay pulled out of the Atlanta GM vacancy last year because he was getting paid nearly the same to be ass’t GM in San Antonio and had better job security. Atlanta hired Sund who was still being paid by Seattle. A cheap hire.
I will get excited about Lindsay as soon as I see some, little glimmer that Taylor will spend $$$.
I am still solidly on Hoiberg.
