Fact or Crap - Telfair would fit...

Fact or Crap - Telfair would fit in or even be a solid starter on any or all of the four remaining teams in the NBA playoffs.

Ya your probably going to say crap.  But maybe just maybe it's fact.  Derek Fisher, Rafer Alston, Delonte West, Chauncey Billups.  Of the 4 Chauncey is the man, no doubt.  But consider the other 3.  Would their teams not have made it this far without those PG's?  I say yes.  In fact if you plugged in Telfair onto any one of those 3 teams as either a starter or key contributor then I bet they still get to where they are now in the playoffs.

I'm not arguing that Telfair will lead the wolves to the promised land.  I'm simply saying that you can put together a very good TEAM with a solid PG that may not be a world beater.  That is the reason that it may serve the wolves to use that blue print.  That blueprint also involves supreme athleticism and size at key positions.  I think it may be wise for the wolves to draft DeRozan at 6 and my man James Johnson at 18.  DeRozan at the 2 would give opponents fits with his size and freakish athleticism.  And Johnson at the 3 is Melo sized.  6-8 235.  He can go inside or outside.  I'm not saying he's as good as Melo but he has a similar type of game.  If PG is the best player available at #6 (Rubio) or #18 (Jennings, Curry, Flynn), then yes, pull the trigger.  But drafting a PG because you think you NEED one may be a mistake.  I would like to see DeRozan and Johnson flying down the wings and throwing down ally-oop passes from Bassy.  Give that experiment a year.  Then if we're still in the lotto next year we try for Mr. Wall.
