I've just been informed by a source close to the situation that the Wizards and Etan Thomas have taken care of the paperwork that was required for them to be able to proceed in completing the trade with Minnesota.

I don't know where to put this
and I don’t have confirmation, but Posting and Toasting (Knicks SB blog) is reporting that the Knicks have purchased the 28th pick from the Wolves.

Looks like it's not a done deal
P&T updated their post.
For future reference, though, you can create a FanShot from any web page (including selected text on that web page) with the Share on SB Nation Bookmarklet found at the top of this page: http://www.canishoopus.com/fanshots
Just drag the link to your bookmarks bar and click away!

Thanks
I always mess that kind of thing up and wanted to get the info posted, so I didn’t try it. And yes, the report is now that it might not be done…

Hm. If this is what it takes for PG to allow Kahn the freedom to wheel and deal, then so be it, but I’d much rather have had them take a Euro stasher with that pick. Jerebko, Casspi and Claver all were interesting, and Calathes would have been a steal if he fell that far. Oh well, complaining about this is like whining about the lack of leg room on the plane after winning a free trip to Hawaii.
My immediate reaction
was that this was a Glen Taylor directive to get some cash in order to sign off on adding the extra lotto pick salary. Just speculation.

Defending the Move
Stashing players overseas has a limited cap implication This is why their is talk about Portland renoucing Koppenen and Freeland to clear around 1.7 Million in Cap Space to make a run at a FA. This might not sound like much in the grand scheme of things. Although if you don’t like what’s coming down the pike at 28- it’s a factor worth considering.
