Love-Mayo Trade Update
Not sure how much this has been touched on, but the controversial trade from draft night 2008 just took on some more shape. If we eliminate all the gratuitous names of cap/contract guys and/or the gear greasers (e.g., Mike "Hot Potato" Miller), the Wolves have essentially traded OJ Mayo and Randy Foye for Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio.
Interesting. And while I personally hope the see Love and Rubio in Wolves jerseys for many years, who knows what The Wrath might do. It's possible this deal keeps on shape-shifting over the next year or two.

Yup
And we need to keep in mind that we don’t get Rubio without Miller as part of trade to Wizards so you can almost look at Mayo/Love through prism of trading Mayo for Love and Rubio.

Looked at that way, I love it.
Love and Rubio are a fun and likable duo, hopefully we’ll actually see them play together this year.

Multiple trade algebra is awesome.
OJ Mayo + bad contracts = Kevin Love + Mike Miller + Brian Cardinal
Randy Foye + Mike Miller = Ricky Rubio + bad contracts
Mike Miller and bad contracts on both sides of the equations cancel out, leaving the trade outlined above. If I ever wasn’t completely sold on the Mayo/Love swap, I am now.
