I'm making a mock draft by polling fans of each team. I know I already did this before the draft lottery, but now the draft order is different. I'm finally at my team, the Timberwolves. So far, the draft has been like this:
1. Los Angeles Clippers- Blake Griffin
2. Memphis Grizzlies- Ricky Rubio
3. Oklahoma City Thunder- James Harden
4. Sacramento Kings- Tyreke Evans
5. Washington Wizards- Hasheem Thabeet
6. Minnesota Timberwolves- ???
The choices on my poll will be:
6-3 Stephen Curry
6-10 Jordan Hill
6-1 Brandon Jennings
6-7 DeMar DeRozan
6-0 Jonny Flynn
(Heights are from nbadraft.net)
I think that the Wolves should draft Stephen Curry, who could play a PG who can shoot very well. Curry is probably the best shooter in the draft and he can create his own shot. He could probably start over Bassy. I think that Sebastian Telfair is a very good point guard, but the Wolves could get a better one. Stephen Curry is also great at getting into passing lanes with 2.1 steals per game. We lack a great shooter other than Mike Miller who struggled last season. I would be fine with a trade, but this is a mock draft so there aren't any trades.
The reason why I wouldn't draft Brandon Jennings is because he's not a great shooter, which is what we really need.
Jordan Hill would just be another PF to add to our collection.
DeMar DeRozan is very athletic, and a very good player, but his 3-point and free-throw shooting is horrible. He can't create his own shot very well. He's not great at defense either.
Jonny Flynn isn't the best PG out of the choices, and I think Flynn will go lower. He will have to adjust to the NBA big men if he wants to drive to the rim. He needs to lower his turnover numbers.
