So with all the talk lately it is looking more and more likely that Rubio will be coming this season. IF that is the case, and IF Kahn really is looking at trading Flynn, which is probably unlikely, (but hey, this has no bearing on what Kahn actually does so let's have some fun here!) what do you think would be the best deal we could get, or who do you think we should go after? What position in particular?
So far I have heard some Flynn and other pieces for Rudy Fernandez. I would NOT do this deal unless we were the ones getting extra pieces or if it was straight up. Rudy will never be anything beyond a role player and Flynn has some potential to be, just not worth it if we are sending extra pieces to me.
There is another thread going now about Rubio and parts for Beasley and parts. I would like to see if we could do Flynn and parts for Beasley once Miami signs Odom or Boozer and makes Beasley a little more redundant.
Maybe we guage interest in a guy like Jason Richardson and see if Phoenix wants to abandon Goran Dragic as Nash's heir apparent and take on Flynn instead...a lot more promise there. We get more athletic and our up-tempo daydreams turn slightly more into reality. A lineup of Rubio/Telfair, Richardson/Ellington, Gomes/Brewer/Richardson, Love/Gomes/Smith/20 other guys, Big Al/Thomas looks pretty good to me. We could send Phoenix some nice expirings and Flynn and then they would get to cut their salary and get a promising young PG to replace Nash some day. Maybe send them Pekovic and/or future picks to make it work? I like our starting lineup...Rubio, Richardson, Gomes, Love, Big Al...thats a 35 win team AT LEAST. And we still have money left over to sign a good free agent SF in 2010 and/or 2011 so we aren't gonna see what happened with KG again when we can't make the playoffs but we cant get a top 5 pick.
Anyways, SG and SF seem like our biggest needs right now so anyone got some guys they would like us to go after?
