Well that was a surprising bolding.
Stupid asterisk shorthand.

My most heartstopping moments were his passes back to guards in 07-08
Craig Smith made any situation in which he got to the baseline but picked up his dribble an adventure. In mid 07-08, or so, he had a string of games where he kept firing bullet passes at floor level back vaguely toward one of our guards.
The resulting over-and-back violation was painful.
The nicknames are my real answer
Much as I liked “Cookie Monster,” Smith’s “Rhino” nickname was the most apropos specific nickname ever to grace the Wolves’ roster.
“Da Kid” smacked of stupid pop culture, “big ticket” acknowledged an excessive contract. “The Rhino” was about style of play. When he wore the mohawk early last year, that all fit.
Just watching him play a lot taller than he is in the paint
Really aggressive, not afraid to mix it up, and has made himself a decent living doing so. You gotta love a small “big man” who doesn’t give a damn. Definitely the guy I’ll miss most of the three.
Craig taking it time after time against Amare in Phoenix
this year will be the memory I’ll hang onto.
His theme
When he would score. That epic song from Ninja Turtles 3.
Ohhahahohohaohaohhhhhhhhoooooooohhhhhohhhh.
Favorite Comedians: Mike Birbiglia, Doug Benson, Daniel Tosh, Delmon Young in Left Field.
great touch!
For his size, he is an amazing scorer down in the paint. If he was just an inch or two taller he would be unstoppable with his ability to create space and flip in shots from crazy angles.
He was totally redundant on this squad, but I’ll really miss him.
I agree with this. It was really fun watching a 6’7 270lb bowling ball with little actual post game somehow create AND finish in the paint, completely unfazed by the fact that everyone he matched up against had him by at least a few inches.
Yeah, he gave it back on D and on the defensive boards, but he was entertaining.
Jennings: F*** the Knicks, them n***** is always going to be weak.

awesome clip
The strangest thing about that clip was the dish from “Stress of Both Worlds” Hudson. It feels like it should be from 2002 or something—feels like a Wolves timeslip with those 2 playing together.

the comments on that youtube clip are hilarious...
the best one was submitted by somebody who two years ago was moved by the rhino’s dunk to comment as follows:
“Damn thats all i got to say
thank god hes on my team watch out nba here comes:
Craig Smith, Randy Foye, and Rashad MCcants
this is the future of the NBA"

Greatest. Nickname. Ever.
The Rhino was just one of those underdog-type guys who had some skills. If he’d been KG’s backup earlier in KG’s career, he’d have been a fan fave then, too. When that teardrop was falling, it was gonna be a good night for the Rhino.
With Telfair, there were just stretches when he was getting to the paint on possession after possession and making the right decision.
I always miss guys who seem like good guys, but this is best for them and for the Wolves. Bigger and better things hopefully for both.

He performed with any amount of time given to him.
Talk about missused; this got would start (sparingly and play as little as 4+ minutes a game…..but would never argue about it, he gave it his all, a true sportsman.
I’ll also miss those silly interviews he had with the previous Timberwolves.com reporter. Talking about fashion and all the stuff, it was a bit forced but funny nevertheless. I’m sure that he was indeed the guy keeping things light as the team was struggeling.
Will definitly miss him though I think the split was inevitable.
We got Rubio!
Almost
forget that guys name “Mike Trudell” it was; how could I forget after he picked my question out of the mail bag TWICE. I’ll miss you to Mike

In a game against the Celtics
Big Baby ran into Craig, Craig looked like a fly landed on him while Big Baby went down hard! Greatest collision ever! I was so happy when I saw the two of them in the game at the same time. I will miss, not because they affected me, but because I think they brought something to the entire team, his locker room antics. He made MN a fun place to be and a slightly more attractive destination. Teammates can keep someone around more than sunny beaches and NY fans screaming at you in anger….wait….why do people actually want to go there?
