Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Vegas Baby, Vegas

On July 17 I'll be flying down to hang out at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus where the Wolves' summer league team will hit the hardwood. Braving 107 degree weather will be a small price to pay for getting an in-person glimpse of Jonny Flynn, Wayne Ellington, Oleksiy Pecherov and a, hopefully, well-healed Corey Brewer.

While I promise you daily scouting reports (17th, 18th and 19th) on our guys and the occasional glance at someone the Wolves may want to look at, I'm interested to know what you're interested in. Do you want a photo of me and Ben Woodside partying at the Wynn Hotel? Do you want a scan of my ticket stub from the Sigfried and Roy Tribute Show Bobby Brown and I are going to? You name it, I'll do my best.

I know we're all disappointed that Pretty Ricky won't be there to gawk at, and I was hoping that Kevin Love would be in attendance as well, but rest assured that there will be plenty to talk about. If I play my cards right, maybe I'll even be able to corner one of the suits in the stands.

All I need are your marching orders. And a chaperone.

Sounds good! I want a picture of Brewer holding a sign that says “Canis Hoopus Rules”

We got Rubio!

We'll settle for

a picture of Brewer not holding his knee, though.

Suits and on-court observations, please

If I want steamy Vegas stories I will either generate them myself, or look someplace other than the “men of Canis Hoopus” to provide them. No offense, Wyn.

Yeah, I think the steamiest I'll be able to provide...

… will revolve around forgetting to turn the fan on in my hotel shower. I’ll stick to hoops.

“Men of Canis Hoopus” sounds like a calendar no one would buy.

That's a lie.

Medical companies would use it as a tool to induce vomiting.

I hate Pod Six. I don't even know why we have a Pod Six. Total suck pod.

If you're posing for pictures with players

it probably wouldn’t hurt to do it with the topless pool in the background…

Coach

Who is coaching the Wolves summer league team?

by Mac of the MIAC on Jul 7, 2009 10:55 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I've wondered this myself.

O’Brien is coaching the Pacers’ summer leaguers himself in order to get acquainted with the players better. That would be a nice option to have….

Maybe

Jerry Tarkanian is available.

Rooting for a Rubio Revolucion since roughly 10:20 a.m. on June 24th, 2009

But who is that?

Do we still have coaches under contract? If so, who, and who will be coaching the Wolves. Just a little weird that summer league starts in a few days and we don’t know who is coaching the Charlotte and MN combined team. Maybe a Charlotte assistant is doing it.

I'm not sure...

But I wouldn’t be surprised if all of them still had contracts. Their deals would’ve been tied in with Wittman’s, who was in his second year of a 3-year deal when he was fired.

You're exactly right

TWolvesBlog linked to a report that it’ll be him. I think Grandpa Sports said it.

i want a pic of johnny flynn

holding a sign that says “Whobio?” and then a Brandon Jennings like quote along the lines of “he better stay in Europe if he wants to play at all. I’m the truth.”

A photo of you and Pecherov at a NKOTB show.

Do they really have a tribute to S&R?
