At least one Florida paper says Michael Beasley might be as untradeable as any player in the NBA right now.
So if we are looking for young talent on the cheap, does Beasley fit into this? If his value is at an all-time low, can we make a bid for him? What do you think it would take to pry him away from the Heat?
Talent is obvious, Miami is expecting him to play a lot of time at the 3 and he would be an upgrade over Gomes, so from a basketball standpoint it seems like a good move. Is Miami desparate to get rid of the headache? I don't now. I'm sure they would like to but they probably have too much invested in him to give him up for expirings. But with O'Neal coming off the books this year, would they be interested in a center such as Pekovic for the future?
It seems like this is a better year to just see what we've got, but when you see a good deal, sometimes you just have to jump on it. But there is obvious risk here, do you think he can come back from this ... probably. So do we get him while his value is low and if he doesn't work for us dump him next year with the TO. If his value comes back, then we could keep or trade him.
So this is my first fan post, and I'm starting to ramble. So here are a few questions for my fellow fans (and bargain hunters). 1.) Do you think we could get him for a decent price, 2.) Do you even want him on our team?
EDIT: Hoopshype is reporting that Miami's only committed salary for next year is Wade, who may opt-out, so I don't think that expirings are going to mean much to them. All the rest are team options. This is going to mean picks and someone from our core. Unless someone else can think of a 3 team trade...
