I'm starting to think that Rubio will never play in Minny. If Flynn becomes a very good PG, why would he want to try to wedge his way in after 2 years already knowing Flynn has turned out to be a very good pro? I also think he wants to go to a larger market for endorsement possiblities. So instead of waiting 2 years for the inevitable (trade), why not be creative? We need shooters/scorers and athleticism. Golden state has some intriguing possibilities. Anthony Randolph, every improving ultra athletic big. Curry, outstanding scoring combo guard. Monta Ellis, ultra athletic scoring combo guard. Possiblities:
Rubio for Ellis straight up
Lineup - Flynn / Ellis / Brew / Love / Jeff
Rubio & Love for Curry & Randolph and a 1st rounder
Lineup - Flynn / Curry / Brew / Randolph / Jeff
Rubio & Love for Ellis & Randolph and a 2nd rounder
Lineup - Flynn / Ellis / Brew / Randolph / Jeff
Not sure any of this would work cash-wise but I guess the point is, I don't think Rubio will ever play in Minny for the 2 reasons mentioned above. Why wait to trade him? Do it now and make the team better immediately. This could be a playoff team with any of the lineups above. And about trading KLove, I understand that he is a solid NBA player, but this team needs a big who can block shots, slash, get up and down the court, and have a vertical jump in the double digits :-). Break it down fellas....
