A coach with ties to Rubio's Spanish agents was interviewed and gave some interesting perspective on this. It's also a good read for making Wolves fans feel good about the way Kahn handled this. Some interesting notes:
- Rubio and Joventut were working on renegotiating his deal in a way that would allow him to come over in 2010 until Fegan stepped in
- Fegan decided not to work with Rubio's Spanish representation in this, which created "bad blood" between the two sides
- He thought that Rubio shouldn't have declared for the draft due to his contract situation and should have pulled out
- Fegan was too confrontational in his negotiations with Joventut, which caused problems
