The Gist: There is talk of Toronto trading Bosh to the Lakers or a Texas team among others. Observers believe if Bosh went to Texas (his home) or the Lakers he would stay and be off the free agent market. 

The free agent strategy for teams like the Nets and Knicks was built on attracting Lebron by teaming him with Bosh. With Bosh off the market, its believed unlikely that the Nets and Knicks will attract Lebron. 

In response, the Nets are looking at a new strategy to complete their roster. Rather than waiting for free agency in the summer, use their cap space at the trade deadline in February to bring in good players with contracts. Its thought that the Knicks could do something similar. If this happens it means less competition in the free agent market for teams with large amounts of cap room, like the wolves.
