Getting Wall AND Turner in the Draft

All the talk about Wall and Evan Turner has me excited. What if the Wolves could get both guys? But how?

Here's one possibility

Wolves trade:

PF/C Al Jefferson $12M

New Jersey trades:

SF Bobby Simmons $11.2M expiring

PG Keyon Dooling $3.5M two years

Net's 2010 first round pick

(trade machine approved)

Why NJ makes the trade - because they turn Bobby Simmons into Al Jefferson, clear $3.5M more in cap space for 2010, and can court (and pay) LeBron with PG Devin Harris, and a front court of Al Jeff and Lopez.

Why MN makes the trade - while NJ may win more games with this lineup and thus shed ping pong balls, it is unlikely that NJ will catch #3 Golden State who has an 8 game lead. The longer the Wolves hold off on this trade, the less likely NJ catches GS. Now the Wolves will lose more without Big Al, and their own pick will likely have the most ping pong balls - with the NJ pick falling between 2 and 5. So the Wolves would essentially guarantee themselves 2 of the top 5 picks. So long as the Wolves get the first pick, they can package Rubio with the other pick to move up 1 or 2 spots to get Turner. Should the Wolves get real lucky and land Wall and Turner with their picks - Rubio becomes an awesome trade chip.

They also have Bobby Simmons reducing the cap hit by $11M when he expires at season's end to go along with all that other expiring money - so the wolves could add 2 max free agents (or bring them on through a trade).

Please vote in the poll below - remember, just evaluate it for the Wolves. If anyone knows of an SB Nation Nets site - let me know and I'll post the poll to Net's fans and report how they like this trade.
