Joey Crawford officiating
Makes me crazy twice a season.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
For whatever reason today's meme is "Corey Brewer: Most Improved Player?"
The practice sound bits on the Wolves’ site included someone asking Rambis and Corey himself about it. Now we had the little pregame thing.
Best moment: Brewer saying his handle was much better than his rookie year, when he was “kicking it to the other team.”
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
I'd rather not have Corey win the MIP...
….because I think it puts too much pressure on a player the next season. Historically, MIP winners have a bad followup season, and I definitely think there’s a psychological aspect of it where a player starts thinking “I gotta take another big leap this year again” and tries to force the game rather than letting it develop naturally.
He has zero chance to win it
I doubt he gets more than a single vote, if that.

Love's not in to start,
Giving way to Gomes. The illness, yeah — but David West scored a load on Love last time, didn’t he? So maybe he’s a change of gears today.
To get the rebounding advantage we should expect, here, we need to play Love.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
I think Rambis is worried about him getting winded early
Hollins struggled keeping his wind up and staying focused when he came back earlier this week. If Love was as sick as Hollins (and as sick as the media says he was…) he probably lost a lot of fluids and sleep.
almost forgot the Wolves were on
I was busy getting my ass kicked in Call of Duty, bunch of freakin nerds online
Rambis needs to call in those dogs at some point tonight. Dang 'em.

The digital signal on the higher channel for Comcast is a smidge better.
Still bad.

For me in the NW 'burbs, it's 104.1
No guarantees. This is not an HD signal. Just a tiny bit cleaner on my particular pipe.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
He was the reason it couldn't
To make the $$ match he had to give up like $80K or something. So, yeah, he was probably happy.

Unusual, uh, pass there Peja
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
He's been a rollar coaster this year
He’ll go 7-8 one night, 1-8 the next. Not any consistent 4 or 5 for 8s like he used to shoot.
Jim Pete "Those things are hard to come by, as the Wolves know"
….I think not getting a long, athletic player was more a failure to look rather than a failure to acquire….McHale never even tried….
It's just me, but I love bounce passes on the break like that.
The original Stop-n-Pop could do that. Not the smoothest break, but I liked that.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Ellington seems to have been
the missing element in that little Globetrotters weave we run. Gotta have someone to shoot from outside at the end.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Hollins...
….closed that gap of really quickly. Too bad he wasn’t invited to his pre-draft combine….I’d love to see his lane agility numbers
Any chance Flynn ever becomes a pass first PG?
I guess that would probably take most of his value away as passing isn’t his strongest skill. Aaaand I just answered my own question…….
Jim Pete kind of just echoed my thoughts...
….give it time. At the least, we should acquire a couple good scoring wings first. In terms of just APG, he’s still 4th among rookies, and Evans and Curry both have a lot more to pass to.
Offensive foul?
huh?

Love...
….just put down maybe the most flatfooted allyoop I’ve ever seen….
Nice job creating space though
I don't agree with the announcer's assessment that Love...
rose to the rafters.
He sure as heck adjusted nicely to the ball in the air.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
It was a great dunk.
Just thought the rafters comment was uncalled for.
Yeah, he didn't really jump that high....
….although the pass wasn’t thrown above the rim in the first place. So great adjustment to catch it below the rim and get it above the rim that quickly.
He’s no Hollins when it comes to getting air though.
If only Hollins was a shadow of Love as a rebounder.
Ryan’s boarding is anemic. It’s Blount-like. A guy that height who can jump that high?
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Not enough weight, I think
He can’t hold his position well enough….every time he goes for a rebound, someone is pushing him out of the way
Just not wired for it in my book, BBIQ-wise
Hollins will literally be turned away from rebounds.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Knicks are desperate to trade him
It’s a showcase move. If they can’t move him by the deadline, their entire offseason is screwed.
there better off hiding him on the bench
6-7 mil a year is a lot for a guy that averages 4.5 PPG in 25+ minutes
My only guess
Defense. Lots of tough matchups on the Lakers, and he’s the only one who can guard any one of them (let alone just one of them). And what Oceanary said is part of it too.

1 observation, 1 question
1. Nice run by the Wolves since Paul has been out.
2. Is Pavs, echoing the comment above, actually playing well tonight? Passing, defense? Who is this guy? Is he actually Alando Tucker made up to look like Pavs?
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."

That was heady. Kid has game.

"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Julian Wright...
….what a disappointment he’s been. I remember a bunch of Wolves fans were uppity that we took Brewer instead of Wright or Al Thornton.
Don’t hear from those fans much anymore.
What do you suppose would’ve happened if Portland had taken Durant first?
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
For Seattle?
For whatever reason, that franchise cannot keep a young center healthy. Robert Swift, anyone?
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
At that point, they'd already drafted around 59 project centers
Swift, Petro, Saer Sene. All within a few years, all pretty high picks. None paid off. The drafting in recent years has been great, but their lack of a big man is still glaring. Mullens looks to be doomed.
Not sure...
….I think the Sonics were one of the few teams really skeptical of Oden’s medical reports, so they might have gone with Al Horford. Maybe even kept Ray Allen.
Is anyone on here at the game?
If so, please get word to the Wolves’ bench that we’d like to see a Tucker sighting tonight (in place of Pavs).
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
I know
Makes me wonder if Tucker’s out the door as filler for a trade somewhere else eventually.
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
I think he plays eventually
It took Ellington a good 2 1/2 months to really get into the lineup, so I think it’s just a matter of time
Has he
played even a minute yet? Not even in garbage time of the Memphis game? What’s the guy got to do?
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
Huh? No offense intended, but
Wayne Ellington played 23, 23, and 26 minutes in the first three games of the season.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
But he only averaged about 10mpg...
…the rest of November and was in and out of the rotation in December. This is the first month he’s consistently gotten 20mpg every night.
That's likely a factor
Of the Hornets being one of the few teams in the league with a bench as bad as ours. That’s always been the main thing keeping them down (aside from Peja dropping off the face of the Earth).
They don't have a single backup center...
…since they dealt Hilton Armstrong. Songaila’s the biggest big man off their bench now.
Bet the Hornets wish they had kept the Birdman…
Bad D there
Big Al.

You have him on your fantasy team? Are there 20 teams in your league?
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 7:54 PM CST up reply actions
close, 16 teams
I have Love too but I wasnt sure if he was going to play or not. Rolled the dice on Gomes……
Eh, that's a little harsh
He’s certainly worth owning in 12-team leagues for short stretches. He’s an efficient player who gets a few 3’s and steals here and there. I’ve never been a fan of holding onto him for very long (if at all). I’m always on the lookout for long-term; I’ve never been a “ride the hot streak” guy.
Blazer fan here...
just stopped by to wish you all luck. next to my team, you’re my second. Best of luck coming up, it happens.
Question for ya
How do you think Blazers recent history would be different had you taken Durant instead of Oden?
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
not sure really...
I think durant is great and will be great. I feel like a few more years is needed to find out for sure. It seems to me durant is an amazing scorer, but needs lots of shots to get it. Interior defense, plus a threat to pull defenders in is more of what the team needs as is currently constructed.
Brandon Roy can do most of the scoring we need if there is an interior threat to go along with him as well as sharp shooters to keep things honest.
Personally I would rather have Big Al than either
I also hope some miracle happens and the dude (oden) can play one game
he’s was great this year until he jumped and ripped his kneecap in half… plus I’m a northwest kid, this sort of thing is par for the course, but I’ll never jump ship.
You came away from a close contest with Boston?

Wow, competitive game so far
Both teams shooting over 50 percent. The reason we’re down is because we’re already at an awful 10 TOs before the half. Yuck.
On David West though, it'd be nice if we stopped fouling him...
….9 FTA already. That’s up in the Chris Bosh stratosphere of big men free throw shooting
Pop Quiz
Who else, besides KLove, has attempted a FT for the Wolves tonight?
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
Correct
Al – 1 FTA (1 make)
Love – 5 FTA (5 made)
Rest of team – 0.
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
Theory
Here’s my theory on how KLove gets so many FTAs: he’s just short enough that interior guys are able to reach over enough to make contact. If Love was any taller he’d finish cleanly and not draw the foul.

What pisses me off is that he goes on these nice flourishes and then just totally abandons ship for stretches. He did NOTHING in the last game and the same with this game. At least do what Wilkins does and go in and fight for some rebounds when your shot isn’t falling.

Addition to the Wolves Dictionary?
Brewbound – a rebound collected by Corey Brewer beyond the 3-point line.
Brewshot – 1) an airball, 2) a shot by Corey Brewer that bounces over the backboard or hits the shot clock, 3) a shot by Corey Brewer from the corner that hits the side of the backboard or passes behind the backboard, hitting the supports, camera, microphone, shot clock or nothing at all.
If Jonny passed and played defense...
like he interviews, how good would he be?
Yup
I don’t understand why he can’t play better defense. He’s got the physical ability to stay with a guy like Paul – all that’s lacking is the heart and desire to.
"Come on Eddie, let's get serious."
I think he's also still adjusting to man-to-man defense
Syracuse plays nothing but zone. It’s hard enough to just get used to the speed and size of the NBA, much less learn a whole new way to defend them at the same time.
I agree
I think eventually he will be a good defender because of his strength, athleticism, and low center of gravity. But it takes a few years to get the ’Cuse out of your system. Something to beware of if we draft Wes Johnson by the way.
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 8:25 PM CST up reply actions
Personally, I don't think Johnson is a very good defender period
But like Flynn, he has the tools to become one
There was an article today about NBA scouts ranking the draft.
They had Wall, Turner, then Johnson. They said Johnson was pretty bad on defense.
Yep, I'm going through it right now to add their quotes to the weekly NBA update
From what I’ve seen of Johnson at both Iowa St and Syracuse, I’d agree about his defense. His stats are deceptive in the way Amare Stoudemire’s are, because on a play-to-play basis, he does frequently let his man by him, doesn’t rotate well, and gets a little lost when you move him beyond 15 of the hoop. He stuffs the box score, but lacks defensive fundamentals, and I do wonder if he’s going to get caught between the 3 and 4 in the NBA.
The comparison to Shawn Marion is pretty much dead on. Johnson isn’t nearly the defender Marion is, but has the tools to get there, and mirrors his game in pretty much every other aspect.
Ha, whoops
Love’s having an absurdly good game given his minutes so far. Pace at around a point per minute and over half a rebound per minute. If he plays 40 minutes that’s over 20 rebounds and 40 points. Jeez. Not gonna happen, but he’s been great.
I'v only seen the last minutes of the half
we had 3 bad possessions where we could have close up the half
No West with the starters for the second half
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Love can't finish
Big Al gives up an easy shot to dump it down low to Love, but he can’t get any lift vs Songalia. Both Love & Jefferson are having good games, but not even getting a shot off inside is more of a Love drawback.
He pauses for a second when he gets the ball
Probably a bad habit he picked up after last season when he got his shots blocked all the time
Paul took a Eurostep going to the hoop
Brewer couldn’t adjust fast enough to get back in front of him.
A blocking foul in the rulebook, but the Eurostep should be a travel call, so….

I think Rambis was looking at the Hornets' lineup and thought...
…Love versus Julian Wright was a matchup in the Hornets’ favor
Love is our best player
You don’t bench him because he doesn’t match up with Julian freakin’ Wright. I hope you’re joking.
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 9:34 PM CST up reply actions
Just guessing at...
…what Rambis’ thought process is.
In terms of +/-, Cardinal has been better than Love I guess, but I think it was basically a matchup thing for Rambis.
Then Rambis should be fired if he's worried about Love not matching up with Julian Wright
As if the 33-year old Cardinal can stay with him.
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 9:37 PM CST up reply actions
I'm baffled with the Love benching
It’s not like he was sucking wind on his way to 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. He had plenty of rest leading up to the final few minutes of the 4th, but Rambis inexplicably stuck with Cardinal. He screwed with Love in that Houston game too.
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 9:33 PM CST up reply actions
I was on my way to saying
Flynn what the fuck are you doing driving it, theres not enough time left for another posession. But nevermind
I swear to God I almost posted the following:
Rambis draws up the following play: Flynn top of the key, drive right, and bank it high off the glass. Had the direction wrong.
what a bunch of fucking idiots
missed the entire last play. Finally cut to the game, only to hear, “New Orleans has done it again”. So they start to show the replay, and quickly cut to another commercial for a few seconds and back to the feed again. Bunch of fucking monkeys running this network?
Yes. He'll be an extremely valuable role player if Kahn gets more talent, say, a Wall or Turner...
… not many guys are capable of bringing the intangibles Brew does, even if his mistakes are maddening sometimes.
wasnt a cut
brewer jumped out on paul leaving an open lane to the hoop
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
Can't fault him too much in my estimation
I would think it’s going to Paul too… There’s 3 seconds left, help-side needs to sag in the middle and Wilkins was a step late.
not his job to defend paul
you cant leave the man with the ball. if the pass goes to paul the help side is there since he’s going towards the middle. if the pass doesnt posey drives to the hoop unimpeded. it was a mistake, imo. i mean you cant leave the ball, right?
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
Mental lapse
I’m sure Rambis spent the whole timeout talking about denying Paul the ball, so when Posey faked the pass, Corey probably just assumed the ball was going to CP3 and moved to follow it.
It was actually very clever
Paul faked the same cut he burned Jonny on last time. But, you can’t leave the ball.

Tim Floyd. Ouch, he designs the plays?
I am getting very worried that we are winning so few of the winnable games. And very confused by Al and Love being nailed to the bench in crunch time.
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
You absolutely have to blame Brewer
He was swapped in on the play for defensive purposes. He is our “stopper”. and he left the guy with the ball. Do you ever see good players do that? Corey has always been a gambler, and kind of a defensive bonehead, but the plays he does pull off result in him getting way too much credit as a defender.
Corey makes mistakes because he does so much...
… when a guy is as active as he is, he’s going to make mistakes. I’ll take his contributions along with the occasional mistakes.
No he makes mistakes because he can't not make those mistakes
He is incapable. It’s unrelated to trying to do so much. The high activity is just how he compensates to stay employed in professional basketball.
That's not entirely fair to say
He offers more than just energy. His scoring has picked up to the point that he’s a positive for us statistically, he rebounds well, moves the ball, is top 25 in steals/game…
It’s not like he doesn’t do anything but run in circles, even if that’s what it looks like.
Plus it’s hard for even a good defender to show a statistical defensive impact when the team as a whole isn’t very good on defense. For example, Brewer makes about the same impact defensively per 100 possessions as Prince, Posey, Al Thornton, Ronnie Brewer, Josh Howard…in fact, he statistically makes more of a defensive impact for us than Battier does for the Rockets.
He blew the last play, no question. But he overall still offers a lot of positives, so to say it’s just his energy keeping him in the league is shortchanging him.
Corey's defense is a huge positive
and always has been. It just hasn’t been able to off-set his normally horrible offense. One bad play doesn’t make or break a player. He played well, tonight.
I dont think it was Brewers fault
I didnt get to see any replays so I could be wrong. But from what I saw it looked like posey kind of picked Sessions. If I saw that correctly then Brewer was right by switching to Paul and not allowing him a lay up if Posey had passed. Sessions should have switched to Posey and not allowed him to get a lay up.
How?
I don’t believe Sessions was between Posey and the basket. Only Brewer was. If Paul got past sessions cutting to the basket, Brewer has to work to deny the pass.
Thats the problem
Sessions wasnt between Paul or Posey on the play. Sessions should have switched to Posey because even if Brewer didnt switch, Paul was already past Sessions after the screen and a simple pass from Posey probably would have gotten Paul a layup as well.

no.
KLJ, I agree with you on the big man issue you champion so much. But I can’t agree with this.
1. We’re solidly in 2nd worst place, 5 games behind GSW. Our position is pretty secure.
2. The #1 pick has gone to the team with the worst record only 3 times since 1990 (since the weighted lottery system started). The 2nd-worst, 3rd-worst, and 5th-worst have each won the lottery 4 times each. (Oddly, the 4th-worst team has never won it.)
When your record is this bad, I just don’t understand rooting for losses. Tanking, at this point, changes nothing except morale, both for fans and players.
Good defense tonight, we are making progress there...

Miami has a much better case of signing Gay to big money than the Knicks. Lot easier to justify $65mil when it takes your team from average to great versus taking your team from bad to average

But still....
One could argue we lost this game because Rambis decided to play Jefferson for 32 minutes and Love for 23 minutes. That is just not right.

I agree
seems like Rambis could care less if we win or not he just wants to see the right things being done on the court.
To be fair, Love...
…didn’t do much in the time he did get in the second half.
Ironically, David West’s injury might have hurt us more than the Hornets since it forced the bugs to go small and play small forwards like Wright and James Posey at the 4.
Excuse my ignorance of the game,
but don’t you usually want other teams to try to matchup with your two best players?
by Rascal Flatts on Jan 22, 2010 10:06 PM CST up reply actions
Yes
But that requires that player to take advantage of the mismatch, which Love wasn’t doing. He had like a single rebound and two turnovers in the third quarter, and I think Rambis thought “well, if Love isn’t going to score on these guys, we should at least try to match up defensively”.
Not saying it was the right move. Just guessing at why.
But what exactly was Love doing wrong? Or Jefferson?
They were a combined +11 and were having very productive games.

But i want to point out again that historically, being 2nd-worst through 5th-worst has resulted in winning the lottery more often that being The Worst.
This is factual history.
by losDelFuego on Jan 22, 2010 10:01 PM CST up reply actions
Past results
have no bearing on the future lottery. In fact since it has worked out that way so far, in the future the worst team will get it at a higher rate. Of oucrse that might take a while, but kinda how percentages work.
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
The point is that a win tonight would change almost nothing, and even if we did move ahead of another team, there are worse things than finishing the season in 27th place.
More to the point, I can’t agree with the sentiment that the play of the game was tanking.
But I’m disengaging now. I’ve said all I can on the topic.
by losDelFuego on Jan 22, 2010 10:08 PM CST up reply actions
Statistically and logically...
… the probability is exactly the same for the worst team to get the #1 pick from draft to draft, as each is mutually exclusive (unless the lottery field is expanded). Much like, if you flip a coin, the chances of the next flip being tails is still 50% (not slightly higher).
Yeah, that's not how percentages work at all.
by Steven Ellingson on Jan 22, 2010 11:05 PM CST up reply actions
Actually it is
Poorly worded and a bit esoteric. I did say past results have no bearing, so can we agree I am not an idiot?
In any case, flip a coin 20 times. Say you get 6 heads. Flip it 20 more times what do you expect? 10-10 obviously. Keep going. At some point you are going to get back to 50%-50%. If the coin is true this is inevitable. So if the lottery went 3 wins out of 20 instead of 5 of 20 for the worst team – just wait. Eventually the worst team will get the pick at exactly the rate it should have, and at that point they will have won at a greater rate than they have, or should have from this day forward. In other words, they’ve been cold, it is inevitable they get hot. I also said it may take a while, but if the lottery is true it is inevitable that from this day forward there will be a year when the rate of worst team wins is greater than expected.
So what is the most likely percentage of the top team getting the top pick for the next 20 years? Exactly what the percentage (20%, what the hell is it?) says it is, no more no less.
My point was essentially what you are accusing me of not knowing – the difference in winning a slot or not is overwhelmed by the variation in an individual draw. And in response to the posts citing the low rate of previous worst team wins. But, poorly stated and far too cheeky.
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
That's not at all how probability works, actually
If you flip a coin 99 times and it is heads every time, your odds of getting tails on the next flip are still 50%.
Of course it is
But you’ll hit a hot streak of tails in the future to even things out if your coin is true. And from the 99-1 run to things being even you’ve hit more than 50% tails.
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
That's not true..
.d..as each event is discrete and mutually exclusive – and is known colloquially as the Gambler’s Fallacy. You are correct in a given number set, say 100 flips, that the probability of heads to tails is 1/2. There is no way for a coin to “remember” that it just flipped 99 out of 100 heads, therefore, it wouldn’t know that at some future time it needs to “make up” for it and turn 99 out of 100 tails. The probability of any future event, whether the NBA Draft for another coin flip is predetermined.
interesting side note:
while not weighing in on the 50/50 nature of a random binary event, coin flipping does seem to be slightly dependent on which side is facing up when the coin is flipped:

It is how it is defined and semantic to some extent
For what I stated to be false you have to believe that there will never be a hot streak of tails. Of course, I am partially conflating cause-effect to make (poorly) my point. Of course the lottery/coin has no memory and of course the best bet for the next event is 50-50. Nonetheless if the actual true percentage of something happening is 50% it is going to get there eventually and repetitively over time. This may take a whole lot of time, but is required. I mean if you have a coin an go 99-1 and it never gets back to 50-50 – never – then your coin is not 50-50 (as I guess they aren’t according to the post below). Again, I’ve made my point poorly, but in the context of the post stating the low % of worst team lottery wins, pointing out that over time there will inevitably be decades when the worst team wins more than often is valid. Though poorly stated. I’m not predicting the probability of the next or the next few events is different than the actual probability, just that percentages even out over time – hot streaks happen, cold streaks happen. None of it is predictable. The 99-1 streak could be matched by a 1-99 streak or another 99-1 streak, or a 50-50 run. Point is if the coin is 50-50 it has to get to 50-50 at some point, and if it starts 99-1 then at the moment it got to 50-50 it went more one way than the other. But, I won’t disagree that my whole thing here was way to esoteric and odd.
Bottom line is trying to lose games to get a 3% bump in a single discreet event is a bad idea.
'Because there are no fours.' Toine
I think of it less as you having the greatest chance of winning
And more as the fact that there is still an 80 percent chance you don’t.

No
With seven MORE wins than all of: GSW, PHI, WAS, IND, SAC, DET. We have 37 games to play. If we go 13-24 – which would be a miracle – GSW have to go 9-33, PHI, WAS 7-31, IND, SAC, DET 6-34. What is the chance all these things – or even two of them – happen? I would bet a lot of money on a parlay with us winning less than 13 more games and all of those teams winning 9 more.

Number of wins for the team picking 8th:
2009: 32 NYK
2008: 34 MIL
2007: 33 CHA
2006: 34 HOU
2005: 33 NYK
If we go 24-14 (I was wrong we have 38 games left) and pick 8th I’ll be pretty damn happy. More likely? We go 9-29 and pick 2nd-4th.
Relax. We can win some games and still get a very high pick.

I think Kahn will figure out which player or players he wants..
….then makes trades to get those picks. Rather than getting a pick and then settling for the players that are left when it comes up.
We have a ton of assets, and the fact he isn’t using any of them now fits the stockpiling aspect of that.
So far, I've liked his thought processes...
… but I sincerely hope there are a couple of homeruns mixed in with his misses.
Nonsense.
Philly beat Dallas today for goodness sake. Detroit have 5 of their last 7
Your theory is posited on everyone else standing still. They don’t.
We could fulfill your dream and finish with the 2nd worst record in the league and end up with pick 5.
Tanking is no way to plan for the development of a team’s roster.
Free Alando!
Strange 4th Quarter
I’d really like to know why Rambis benched Love. He also benched Jefferson until the last 3 minutes. It’s the first time all season that I’ve considered that we’re tanking. I’m not sure that’s what it was, but there’s no reason Love and Jefferson should be on the bench with 4 minutes to go in a close game. Ever. Not with Hollins and Cardinal as the replacements.
Brewer is playing pretty good ball, right now and his shot looks better and better. I’m watching his misses closer than his makes — and they weren’t that far off, tonight. Maybe he discovered something with his form or he’s just practicing the right way. He is starting to really pick it up. Man, I hope it continues and this isn’t a fluke stretch.

Sessions
Cardinal
Hollins
Ellington
Sasha
Huhwha?? Some of the lineups were very perplexing.
