I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on Solomon Alabi, center for Florida State. Admitedly, I've only seen him play twice, most recently this week against Duke. I think some of the centers that will be in the draft will continue to rise on the boards simply because that position is in demand. Having a big who is strong, long, and athletic is not easy to come by. To me right now Alabi looks like Hasheem Thabeet except with some basketball IQ and greater tenacity. He's 7-1 230 lbs (needs to add a little beef) and he is a shot blocker and shot changer. Very athletic, runs the floor way better than Thabeet. Strangely enough he's an outstanding free throw shooter. Because of that you would think that he has potential to knock down open 15-17 footers but he's not really asked to do that. I did see him make a nice turn around fading baseline jumper from 10 feet and it looked pretty smooth to me. Scoring with a guy like him is gravy anyway, the wolves are in need of the other things he has to offer - length, athleticism, and defense in the post. I hope he declares and gives the wolves another draftable option at the center position. There seems to be several - Cousins, Alabi, Aldrich, Monroe, Jordan. It would be nice to come away with one of these players. Alabi sure does LOOK the part, can anyone give us more info on from what you've seen?
