After we beat Milwaukee, I watched the Lakers-Jazz game on TV
and I saw a 6’9" white kid on the Jazz that looks like he’s going to be a star. This
kid has it all. He plays and shoots like a guard, and plays smart. He already plays
like a seasoned pro. Cool; no fear. He Goes aggressively to the basket. If they change his direction, he goes with the flow, and comes back to the hoop anyway or makes a beautiful pass. He was picked #9 in the first round. He already looks like an impact player, but he’s just a baby-faced 20 year old. Watch for him. Gordon Hayward out of Butler.
I thought the Jazz were weaker because they lost Boozer and Korver. Al is doing
a good job of making up for Boozer, and this - this kid -- makes you forget the
one-dimensional 3 pt shooter, Korver. The Jazz are stronger, not weaker. Even
Fesenko, who was just taking up space in the paint last year, has added a nice
little spin move to the hoop that gives him an easy lay-in. No mean feat for a
300# kid. I was surprised.
But that Hayward….he’s a revelation.
Wolves, it's time to "switch the flip".
