It's like this and like that...

Some more food for thought as we get closer the start of the regular season.

Last year in the preseason the Wolves went 3-5 (missing KLove), losing to Toronto (40 wins regular season), Chicago twice (41 wins), Milwaukee (46 wins), and Denver (53 wins). They beat Milwaukee and Toronto once, as well as Detroit (27 wins).

On average in last year's preseason we scored 97 points and gave up 102.3 (-5.3).

On average in our wins we scored 100.3 points and gave up 91.7 (+8.7).

On average in our losses we scored 94.5 points and gave up 110.25 (-15.75).

For the season last year we scored 98.2 and gave up 107.8 (-9.6).

This year we finished the preseason 6-2.

On average this year we scored 110.1 points and gave up 105.1 (+5).

On average in our wins we scored 111.7 points and gave up 102.5 (+9.2).

On average in our losses we scored 105 points and gave up 113 (-8).

Conclusions - I think it's safe to say that we'll score just fine this year, and that our defense is improved. Unfortunately I can't find any 2009 preseason player stats with which to run TS% and efg% for the players, so I can't compare the players directly like I'd wanted to. In short, though, what we've accomplished in the preseason again bodes well for the regular season.

Thanks for reading this trip down memory lane!
