Alright, let's preface this with an admission that I'm a fan of Kevin Love, I think he's a potentially historic rebounder, a solid shooter, a great basketball player, and a good dude. All that said, I am supremely tired of the national outcry over this guy's playing time. If you are unafraid of desecrating our hero, please follow me to the jump. Thanks for jumping after me, lucky for you, I'm not done (or maybe unlucky for you, it depends on your future opinion of my opinion).
Kevin Love whines and sulks. The guy is in his early twenties, but you can tell he buys his media machine hype, he looks incredulous when he is whistled for foul, or when he is pulled from a game. He calls himself a team leader, but hangs his head constantly.
Kevin Love has zero post game. He not only fails to draw a double team, but when he takes the ball down low the other four defenders sprint out to close out on their men, they pay no attention to him, for good reason, as he usually gets called for an offensive foul or pivots and puts up a low percentage hook shot ala Darko.
Kevin Love is bad at defense. No explanation is needed, he is poor at rotating out to the perimeter and possibly poorer at protecting the paint.
Kevin Love's outlet passes are legendary, and they are legitimately great, but at the same time overrated, as he only gets the opportunity to showcase this ability maybe 2-3 times per game, and it maybe leads to points once per game.
National Media and Stat Heads: Please stop complaining about Loves's minutes based on only a quick glance at the boxscore. Watch the game. This is coming from a fan of his.
