Where They Are Now And Where They Can Go

Alright partway through the season the wolves are definitely struggling to find wins, but they are doing pretty good at beating lesser teams and sometimes play competitive against better teams. They are however a lot better than they were last year in terms of talent, basketball IQ, and a will to win unlike last year were it was really just 12 players running around for 48 minutes and trying to earn a tricky triangle shceme and just trying to mkae it through the season.                                                                                            But no more are things the same.
Going into this off season people had little faith in this team and really were only looking forward to the arrival off point guard Ricky Rubio from Spain whom the wolves drafted with the 5th pick in 2009, and also having a high pick this year, and the cap space to sign at least a decent free agent to help the team. The goal was to get a top 3 pick so that we could get one of the top three players in the draft, but the wolves bad luck streak continued and we were stuck with the 4th pick and decided to go with Wesley Johnson over DeMarcus Cousins who was considered a better pick. Then the real head scratcher came in free agency they failed to pick up a marque player and paid a center in Darko Millic a lot more money than what people though he was worth. However we did get some luck when the Miami Heat decided to sign both leBron James and Chris Bosh they had no room left for the high potential young scorer they had in Michael Beasley so they traded him who they had drafted seond overall in the 2008 draft to us for a second round pick which many seen as a genius move by our general manager David Kahn.

So now we move into our regular season this year. People were expecting the same team i described in the first paragraph and really had no expectations for this team and really neither did the team or the coaches or the fans all that was really expected was for them to continue to improve, figure out a few things on the roster rotation wise, and give the young guys a full season to develop, and wait for the arrival of Ricky Rubio to give us a star at the point guard position. And pretty much so far thats what we have seen them do except...
The wolves while still have a losing record and are definitely not going to the playoffs they have become a team that you can't sleep on and are team that will beat you if you do so. Things have also worked out a lot better player wise than originally thought. Darko is finally starting to show that maybe he was worth the money and leads the NBA in blocked shots. Wesley Johnson has turned into a sharpshooter and is really developing into something special, and has proven that he is so far a better pick than Demarcus Cousins. Kevin love is leading the league in rebounds and has around six 20+ rebound games including a historical 30 point and 30 rebound game which was something that hadn't happened since 1982. Best of all Michael Beasley has exploded this year becoming a decently reliable scorer and our go to guy for points and may also develop into a good leader for this team.
So that leaves us here the team in the future can turn into something really special and we are only going to get better and will be a contender sooner rather than later. So for now enjoy watching what the managers have managed to put together.                                      Now i know this isn't 100% accurate, but im defintely a supporter of our wolves and thinnk we will be somthing in the future. for now good luck with chicago, its one of the few games this year i get to watch live since im in ohio and can't pay for the ticket at the present time.
