Injury Bug
Is any team as jinxed with injuries as the Wolves? My only question is, when will Wes go down? Oh wait. He already went down and came back. Whew!
This is a serious blow to the team, and you have to feel for AT, considering how hard he worked to finally get his big chance. Pek, Jonny, Martell, Wes, Luke, KLove, Brew, Big Al, Foye, McCants…..the list goes on and on. Maybe they should try a different floor wax.
wasn't this in San Antonio?
No one is getting Rubio's rights unless they pry them from our cold dead fingers.

Would've been nice to have him spend some time getting to know Stoudamire.

The Ninja Assassin
will be back before that time frame.
Breaking down cognitive dissonance and group think since gasoline was cheap.
Ouch
This one is going to hurt. Although it won’t hurt as much as Oceanary seems to think.
Provided KLove and Darko are healthy
I think getting Webster back soon will offset this injury. It hurts, but the 2/2 was hurting us more than the 4/5
Will Beas be back tonight?
He seems to be a good candidate for time at the 4 to spell KLove.
Any word on Webster for tonight as well?
Keep waiting for the team to be at full strength, but that may never happen.

Game time Decision
but Jerry Z. seems to think that he will play based on his practice today.

more minutes for others
As much as it hurts to see a good guy get hurt, it will be good for the team to be able to distribute some more minutes to the other non point guards. Tolliver has proven his value as a solid bench player for this squad, but this team’s future success is going to be tied a lot more to players like Wes, Webster, and Beasley. And they still need to see what Pek can do as part of the 2nd team.
I personally am looking forward to January to really evaluate where this team is headed. It’s a good mix of good, bad, and ok teams, and we should have a good idea by then how Jonny and Martel will fit into the rotations.
Is it just me or is AT a bigger blow to this team than either Martell or Flynn?
For as much talk as KLove being a glue guy, AT is practically bleeding Elmers paste…

I know this is tough news and we're all lamenting
our injuries, but are we really jinxed or is this just a normal NBA season? It seems like most teams are almost always down one, two, or three rotation guys for long stretches throughout the season, with some teams fairing worse. I question whether we are any worse off than the average NBA team right now.
I agree...I don't feel this is more than most...heck Miami is down more folks than we are.

Portland is down right horrible...
I am not even a fan but I always felt they were a classy organization….they are going to be stuck in that 35-50 win area for a long time….
Also, Brandon Roy is a class act…tragic.

How about Portland?
going from contenders to being an average team with your two largest building blocks of Roy and Oden in serious jeopardy.

I count Portland differently than the others though
At least regarding Roy and Oden. They were chronic injury concerns from the get-go.
Ah crap, Pek's tattoo just stole my soul..
I don't know
Roy was a surprise to me – going from knee sprains to no cartilage in the knee to a serious jump – something that can’t be fixed.

Hmm, but it wasn't a surprise to our staff.
Haven’t you heard the latest battle cry?
“Well our talent eval was still totally wrong about Foye, but at least some part of the organization (training staff) wasn’t completely inept!”
Ah crap, Pek's tattoo just stole my soul..
Being right by accident is a bad defense for competence:)

Now I'll have you know...
I do believe there is a long road to travel between “not completely inept” and “competent.”
Ah crap, Pek's tattoo just stole my soul..
Exactly
This creates opportunities for others, and 2 of the team’s best games so far came when they were severely shorthanded (at Sac and vs. the Knicks). Sometimes, it’s more difficult to get minutes for a fully healthy team than be competitive with a shorthanded one. It’s never good to lose good players, but this is why they have guys like Koufos/Hayward/Ellington on the roster. What’ll be interesting is how effective Beasley is when Love is on the bench and he slides to the 4.
