What could we get as the "third team" facilitator

This was recently posted on ESPN.com's rumor page, and it got me thinking about Just a Fan's post about how the Wolves are looking to play the role of third party facilitator:

The New York Times reports Knicks president Donnie Walsh, Rockets general manager Daryl More and agent Arn Tellem got together Sunday to discuss the possibility of Tracy McGrady being shipped from Houston to New York.

According to the newspaper, the teams are trying to make the trade without the assistance of a third team, but that might not be possible.

"There's still a chance," one source tells the New York Post, regarding a McGrady-to-New York scenario without a third team involved.

Another source also said there is a "50-50" chance a deal could include a third team.

Okay, you trade machine wizards--could we get anything worthwhile out of this situation?
