Would you be willing for the Wolves to sacrifice their cap space for one year to land SG Rudy Fernandez? You know, the guy stuck behind Brandon Roy in Portland who Ricky Rubio considers a mentor and friend? I'm going to float this trade over at Blazer's Edge (pray for me), but I also want your take on it. I assume the Knicks will do anything to dump Jeffries contract and this deal only hurts their current (paltry) playoff chances. Here is the deal (the ESPN trade machine says the salaries work).
Blount (MIN) and his expiring $7.9M contract
Juwan Howard (PORT) (I'm also going to say they buy out his $825K contract so he can go back to Portland)
Travis Outlaw (PORT) and his $3.6M expiring contract and he's out for the year
Jeffries (NYK) and his 2 year $6.4M deal (cuts next year's cap space in half)
Rudy Fernandez (PORT)
PF David Lee (NYK) and his expiring $7.0M contract. Also fills a glaring, though temporary, need in the front court for their playoff push this year.
