Effort and attitude on a terrible team

What are your thoughts and expectations on this topic? Obviously it'd be nice to see everything left on the court and positive attitudes every night, but is that realistic? Don't we want them to be having a lousy time? And if so, should we be upset if it shows? Al gets a lot of criticism for this, but Love hasn't exactly been a model of perfection when it comes to this stuff either.  Not lately anyway. If Kobe were on a team this bad, he'd probably be in jail for aggravated battery by now.  And a lot of people would be praising him for being a noble warrior.

Bonus question: do I trade Russell Westbrook and Michael Beasley for Brook Lopez and Andrea Bargnani in my fantasy league? It's a keeper league, this season isn't an issue.

I don't need to see them having a lousy time

but I wish there were fewer non-competitive games, and more games where they lost ten point leads in the 4th QTR to superior teams who show up late. The problem is, the superior teams never seem to show up late, which tells me the Wolves show up late too often. I would also like to see a sign that some rotations are getting set, which I haven’t seen…that and a couple guys proving they belong here in a couple years. They have four or five candidates on the last item, but none have really emerged to a point of saying we are set at “THAT” position.

As to the trade, w/o knowing your scoring system it is tough to judge, but the deal seems fair on both sides. If you are trading depth to fill a need, go for it….also, I think the upside is higher with Westbrook/Beasley, but so is the risk.

depends if you need Centers or not

Lopez is a fantasy stud. Bargnani is too. Beasley is not. At least not yet. If you need Centers, I would do it.

I need it all

My team is crap. I do have Oden and Blake Griffin, but who knows with them. Also Nene and Horford, and maybe I’ll keep them. Wouldn’t have much PG action if I got rid of Westbrook, but I could fix that in the draft if I was heavy on bigs. Basically I’m thinking I need the best possible eight keepers, regardless of position.

Judgement call then.

I’m betting that Beasley never pans out into what people thought he’d be. Westbrook is a star in the making. Lopez is arguably just as valuable, though. I would take Bargnani over Beasley for now and probably into the future.

Gomes?

Your first question makes me wonder about Gomes. I like his talent, but he is hard to read. He never seems to show much emotion. In some ways this is good (never getting to too high or low.) However, it makes answering your question very difficult. Does he care? I am not sure that he does. Then again, is he just staying even keel. I am not sure? I guess none of us will know. We are left to speculate.

As for your trade, I would prefer Westbrook and Beasley. I think they are on solid teams that will stay that way for a while. Also, I see this year as an aberation for Beasley. I see hime doing better as he gets older.

Thoughts on Both

I have been worrying about the toll that loosing take for a while now. It seems Al may already do lost (in a few ways), but players like Love and Flynn, I think it important to make sure they don’t acquire a loosing attitude.

As for the trade, do it. Centers in fantasy are invaluable. You can replace Westbrook with a player that averages a few less points quite easily, but Lopez? The number of centers that can help a fantasy team is very low.

My general motto is stock up on centers and fill in the rest. If by chance you have an extra center, someone is always short on them are will trade. Guards that put up numbers are a dime a dozen.
