There's some good promise there. Al Jefferson ... wow. He's got a lot of upside, let's put it that way. He's a 20 and 10 guy pretty much just using jump hooks. Have you seen him shoot with two hands? Jump-shots? And he could get to the line a lot more. He has just scratched the surface. We worked on free throws the other day, and then he had a 36 and 16 game. Afterwards, he said "Idan, that free throw stuff was great." The guy's going to be a killer.
Jonny Flynn is just getting started with what he can do. Corey Brewer, Kevin Love ... they've all just scratched the surface.
And Darko Milicic -- he's way more talented than anyone ever gave him credit for. He has been beat up in his first six years in the NBA. I wish I could sneak you into the gym so you could see what he can do. He really is seven-feet-plus. He's really bouncy. He's really running. You can see why it was a debate who should be first, second or third in that draft.

Very positive article
I’d love to see it on the court.
I'm glad "Crouton" is consulting with the Wolves...
… but isn’t this what assistant coaches are for? We’ve supposedly got an all-star lineup of assistants with Theus, Laimbeer, Wohl, and Bickerstaff, as well as front-office guys like Hoiberg who work with players on specific things. It’s not just Crouton: I read on Flynn’s Twitter feed that he’s trying to get linked up with Steph Curry’s trainer this offseason, and I’m sure other guys do this as well. Again, I’m not against training with these kinds of consultants, and I know it’s common, but, reading between the lines, I’m wondering if Crouton’s hiring, at this point in the season, is yet another symptom of serious, serious disconnect between the current coaches and players.
The disconnect could indeed be there
but if so, I don’t think it’s shown by bringing in the Band Aid guys. These consultants get paid about as much as Al makes every five minutes on the court, so they’re a cheap way to get some marginal improvement.
No
The Wolves’ coaches are probably in the same traditionalist vein as any other team. A guy like this is there for periodic, not day-to-day, purposes.

Bringing in a different voice,
every now and again, is a good way to get people to pay attention. It’s one of the basic principles of teaching a person something. The coaches have been going at the players all year long. It makes sense to bring in a guy with a good reputation, to work with the guys a little. It breaks up the monotony of losing, it enhances the idea of development. Besides, it was fun to read something positive about the Wolves.

He says it was a scheduling issue
In the article he mentions that he wasn’t able to come earlier in the season, meaning that the team had already contacted him. It seems to me that his saying that timing this at the end of the season makes the players think about what they can accomplish themselves in the next 7 months before the start of the next season is making the best of the current situation. I did not say making the best of a bad situation. Correction and instruction are good things at any time, except maybe when you’re in the zone, and then you really don’t need it.
Evan Turner...
just cashed a 35-footer to win by a point over Michigan.
I think he’d help us more than Crouton.
First or second pick
Is the only possible way we land Turner.
Need some lottery luck… FOR ONCE PLEASE GOD

and now...
John Wall is doing his best D-Wade impression against Alabama. Yeah, I think it’d be good to land a Top-2 pick.
Forget that
There are rumblings that if OSU makes an early tourney exit, Turner’s staying in school. Go Buckeyes?

I don't follow the NCAA much at all from here
but I gather the OSU squad is essentially made up of:
1. Evan Turner
2. The other guys that Evan Turner puts on his back most nights.
"I was trying to focus on breathing," Milicic said. "I was just focusing on breathing so I didn’t die."
Ehhhh
I highly doubt there is scenario he stays in school. It would be really stupid if he did.

Between the fact that he's a surefire Top 2 pick, the whole back injury thing, and the uncertainty with the NBA next year
I just don’t see that happening.
It would be really stupid.
agreed...
…especially on the cba front. lock in that top 3 money while you can.

Depends on who gets the 2nd pick
I think several teams would consider Favors over Turner, especially after workouts.
Even if that were the case, I think Turner is pretty clearly in the Top 2 and a team would make a trade to get that 2nd slot to take Turner
Maybe but I would have assumed last year that teams would try to trade up to Memphis’ spot to grab Evans, Harden or Rubio while still allowing Memphis to get Thabeet later in the draft. It didn’t happen. I think if a team likes Favors more than Turner, and I do think there will be teams who will, they’ll just take him at #2.
Even so, he’s not dropping past #3. That shouldn’t sway his decision in any way. True, there’s no way to predict how next year’s draft will shape up, but I have a hard time thinking that bet is worth taking over a surefire top 3 selection.
There’s no accounting for personal decisions, but it really wouldn’t make much sense for him to go back.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
Just watched the replay
What in the hell was the Michigan defense doing?! There was not even a man in his face or within 5 feet of him.
