If we give up 150 points like we did last night
Rambis and Kahn should be castrated and burned at the stake
Kevin Lynch is fucking Senile
Ohio State will be lucky to make the Elite Eight..Let alone win the Tournament
The best player in the country plays for Ohio State
There’s always a chance they go places.
Based on their play this season
Turner is the better player right now.
by princelyfrank on Mar 17, 2010 8:18 PM CDT up reply actions
He will still go #2 in the Draft
Wall has #1 Locked up
That may be the case.
Wall arguably has more potential, is younger, etc. As far as what they’re bring to their respective teams right now, this season, Turner is the best player in college ball.
by princelyfrank on Mar 17, 2010 8:25 PM CDT up reply actions
No, he's not.
Wall projects to be a spectacular NBA player, but his statistics are not that great. Cousins is doing a ton more for Kentucky. How can a guy who doesn’t even lead his team in possessions used be player of the year? It’d be like giving the MVP of the 90’s to Scottie Pippen. Great player, yeah, but not even the best player on his team for 3/4 of the decade.
Let's see if we can hold 'em...
to 140 tonight boys!!!
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Canis Night Question #1
Why isn’t Sessions starting?
What is this???
Are they actually showing pride in tei performance?
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Apparently the game plan for tonight
in order to win, we have to shoot 75%
Here comes the Whiner

Did Love go 0-7 because his ankle is sore..
or because he’s a quitter?

That's 2 bunk-ass fouls on Darko...
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
I can see calling one of those
but two of those… even the Utah announcers thought it was a foul on Okur for the second one. And Love looked pretty clean on that Milsap foul… but then Milsap hit him in the chest afterwards.
At least they are consistent
with these over the back calls.
Love looked so surprised he pulled off that spin move
he forgot to make the layup.
Jersey got beat in Philly
7-61
Poor bastards.
Feel genuinely sorry for them.

OK...I'll play..

'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
But he actually...
…just jumped in traffic for 2 rebounds. Development!
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
season tally for Hollins...
189 rebounds
176 fouls
(as of halftime)
he is creating some separation (finally)
It makes total sense now...
Why Mark Cuban immediately tweeted goodbye to Hollins when we made the offer. No 7 day waiting period or anything. Cuban must have hurt his gut from laughing so hard.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
That got my attention as well
Cuban did the same with Josh Howard when he went to Washington. I think Cuban is a bit annoying, but he says what he thinks and considering the success of the Mavs since he bought them he has credibility (not saying he’s perfect, but above average).
Much better energy tonight...
Nice to see them at least try once in a while…
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
How many absolute lay-ups are we gonna blow?

Love working an 0-10 streak
He looks like Jonny in Summer league
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
45% on the season
He’s really got to figure out a way to be more effective around the rim. Or develop a much more deadly mid-range jumper like Boozer or David West.

Could be Love's biggest contribution..
..over the last four games :)
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
Glad it was an accident...
Every time I see a play like that, I worry it is a “Bruce Bowen Special” where the foot has no business being there.
Seriously, how did that guy get away with being such a dirty MF’er for so long?
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Nope; not if he rolled it over a foot. Maybe he'll be lucky; but those can be bad.
I know they hurt.

He didn't land on Love's foot
It looked like he altered his landing to avoid just that, and only partially rolled it after landing on the side of his foot. I suspect he’ll be back
Yeah, didn't look like a complete roll. He couldn't have limped off
he’d be on the floor, writhing in pain.

Love plays 18 min tonight
I’m assuming that Rambis has already decided that Love is overmatched/underacheiving
Sad
because Milsap/Boozer is as good of a matchup as he will ever get.
He has historically put up good numbers against Utah
But who am I to question Rambis?
Jazz suck as much as we do tonight.

we can’t finish. No excuse to be that close to the basket & not finish.

Confession:
I just smiled a little when AK blocked Flynn…
Jonny Flynn
The swagger of a superstar with the game of a backup. He and Brewer each manage to embarrass themselves at least once or twice per game. At least Brewer evens it out every once in a while with a spectacular play.

I usually wonder why Brewer doesn't pass more
on the breaks. This time I was confused why he did.
That pass kinda put little Jonny on the spot.
It wasn’t all his fault.

I think that like most situations
Jonny just decided a little too early what he was going to do. He was committed to the tomahawk, and didn’t adjust to the defensive presence.
Agreed
No excuse for not at least drawing a foul in that situation.
I disagree, mostly
The man can fly, I have no problem with him trying to throw the hammer down on an elite shot blocker. I would be more concerned had he thrown up a fade away prayer. Getting blocked is part of the game.
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
How did Jonny average so many assists for 'Cuse when his court vision is so poor?...
…I’ve honestly wondered this all season. Didn’t see enough ’Cuse games last season to know the answer.
That saves us 3 free throws.

These refs have been....
less than spectacular. I don’t know who it’s favoring at this point. Too many bad calls both ways to count.
A little of both?
Maybe his foots bothering him more than he will admit. 0 fer 10?

I'm not sure what there is to learn from watching this team anymore
And I really don’t see where the enjoyment is supposed to come from. I think I should cut out for a little Curry vs. Collison action.
I love when
intelligent announcers correct their idiot counterparts. One of the Utah guys just said it was a good cal because Brewer got hit in the head, which clearly happened.
Did someone correct the comment
“Darko wanted no part of Mehmet!” when he matadored Okur to the hoop?
I think a proper correction would have been “Minnesota’s defensive indifference is contagious!”
i think darko was more shocked...
..that big al was 5 feet away from the action and that when a big flashes out towards the perimeter he should expect at the very least a bit of backside help.
Forever splitting the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs
www.canishoopus.com
He was definitely more shocked than I was
Darko does seem to be much more flat footed this game than any of the previous. I hope the thrill isn’t gone.
Hate watching people get hurt
Hope Matthews is back during the game.
how did flynn..
…let d will have that big of a run towards the hoop? there wasn’t even a real screen there.
Forever splitting the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs
www.canishoopus.com
I think he expected the guy on the screener...
…to be closer than 12 feet from the screen. But, yeah, a little fight/effort would be nice, you know, just to mix it up a bit.
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
they are also conceding...
.the 15 foot jump shot for the jazz’s power forward. the entire free throw area has been wide open all night.

There are TOs and there are TOs
Some TOs just happen, others are just terrible and result in easy hoops. We specialize in the terrible kind, and a lot of them. 19 points off 12 of our TOs – they’re scoring 75% of the time we turn it over. At our rate of TOs games become essentially unwinnable without some other facet going our way. If they weren’t 2-15 from three we’d be buried already.
'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
the transition d...
….is far and away the worst part of this team right now…..and that’s saying a lot with the offense being the way it is
Forever splitting the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs
www.canishoopus.com
You'd think with all the practice we get..
…chasing down breaks off of TOs we’d be good at it. Or at least not terrible.

Was Corey's save to lose the game our emblematic turnover of the year?

the one thing I like about Hollins. He stays interested in the game and doesn’t take crap from guys like Boozer.
he definitely is a bit fiesty

"Motor" isn't the problem.
Maybe that’s what Rambis sees in the guy. He doesn’t know what he’s doing, but he’s doing it with conviction, whatever it is.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Heh
not enough to earn him PT by any means :)
Though it does mirror the Flynn pick… One good trait doesn’t make a ball player… wonder if they know this…
j flynn
actually looks like he’s trying to pass the ball tonight. that’s a plus.
his total lack of D. that’s a minus.
Hollins handling the ball is bizarre
Was he just matched up with a huge height advantage and crouching to meet the defender on his own level?
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
what an depressing graphic...
20-straight 9+ assist games for Deron Williams. What I’d give for just one.
This team HAS to be tanking

What would be the point?
Ways I would prefer to tank include:
- Starting Kevin Love at point guard….
I mean, why not? Would you learn more or less than you do by repeatedly testing the limits of Ryan Hollins as a power forward?
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
You're right
Even if this team is tanking they can still do it while developing their most promising player.
BetterLaettner

Don't need to tank anymore
Trying as hard as they can won’t result in more than 5 wins….gotta assume GSW will win at least two more just out of home court advantage.
How is it that no one ever gets back on D?
Play after play.
They stand around and watch their own shots
then when the shot misses they start running, twenty feet behind the guy they should be guarding.
Flynn has looked like a baller
the last couple possessions up and down (taking the charge was smart)
Oh Lord
That turnover by Flynn was painful. Ouch.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Really, Corey?
More backwards soft flips in the general vicinity of the hoop?
Rambis wants him to develop that shot ;-)
But just imagine if he did!
Then he's watching too much small college hoops :)

'It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist.' Michael Scott
Corey throws more crap up toward the basket that has no prayer of ever going in
than any other player in the league. Honestly, does anyone else take more “shots” that aren’t even really shots? And this is post “breakthrough”!
He also
draws a lot of contact. If he can stop turning around, he will get a lot more calls like that. He should be getting a lot more calls as it is. Whether you think he deserves it or not, there is just no way you can not foul the guy when he moves like that. It’s written in the laws of physics. Yes, they’re written.
I'm completely serious when I ask
when do we start playing Wayne as the starting PG?
3 games before Corey found his shot.
That’s when I gave up suggesting it.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
Wayne can't......
do any worse than what Flynn is doing.
Sessions having a terrible game
I’d be ok with Flynn right now. But I’d prefer Wayne to be running the show. He’d be a perfect fit as a PG in the triangle. Enough handles to bring the ball up the court and a great shot to meet the biggest requirement of a PG in the triangle. Better passer than Flynn for sure and than Sessions this year.
TIMEOUT
Rambis calling timeout with just under minute left, down by over 20 points. Desperate to assert his authority?
I wonder if
Anyone will still be bitching about Love’s minutes, after this display of crapiness.
