Kevin Lynch is fucking Senile

Ohio State will be lucky to make the Elite Eight..Let alone win the Tournament

by TonyO on Mar 17, 2010 7:52 PM CDT reply actions

That may be the case.

Wall arguably has more potential, is younger, etc. As far as what they’re bring to their respective teams right now, this season, Turner is the best player in college ball.

by princelyfrank on Mar 17, 2010 8:25 PM CDT up reply actions

No, he's not.

Wall projects to be a spectacular NBA player, but his statistics are not that great. Cousins is doing a ton more for Kentucky. How can a guy who doesn’t even lead his team in possessions used be player of the year? It’d be like giving the MVP of the 90’s to Scottie Pippen. Great player, yeah, but not even the best player on his team for 3/4 of the decade.

Canis Night Question #1

Why isn’t Sessions starting?

opening t/o

I think I’m outta here.

by TMiss on Mar 17, 2010 8:12 PM CDT reply actions

Wow

Flynn has a 100% assist rate in this game!

OK

maybe I’ll stick around

Corey

wants to win this game.

by Mplax on Mar 17, 2010 8:16 PM CDT reply actions

What is this???

Are they actually showing pride in tei performance?

1. good d by brewer
2. air ball layup by brewer, lol
3. No foul there?

Crap call

but the ref who was supposed to make that call did get taken out.

Here comes the Whiner

Did Love go 0-7 because his ankle is sore..

or because he’s a quitter?

That's 2 bunk-ass fouls on Darko...

by mutleyil on Mar 17, 2010 8:25 PM CDT reply actions

I can see calling one of those

but two of those… even the Utah announcers thought it was a foul on Okur for the second one. And Love looked pretty clean on that Milsap foul… but then Milsap hit him in the chest afterwards.

season tally for Hollins...

189 rebounds
176 fouls

(as of halftime)

he is creating some separation (finally)

by highpockets on Mar 17, 2010 9:24 PM CDT up reply actions

It makes total sense now...

Why Mark Cuban immediately tweeted goodbye to Hollins when we made the offer. No 7 day waiting period or anything. Cuban must have hurt his gut from laughing so hard.

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Mar 17, 2010 8:34 PM CDT up reply actions

That got my attention as well

Cuban did the same with Josh Howard when he went to Washington. I think Cuban is a bit annoying, but he says what he thinks and considering the success of the Mavs since he bought them he has credibility (not saying he’s perfect, but above average).

45% on the season

He’s really got to figure out a way to be more effective around the rim. Or develop a much more deadly mid-range jumper like Boozer or David West.

he is amazingly bad around the rim.

Glad it was an accident...

Every time I see a play like that, I worry it is a “Bruce Bowen Special” where the foot has no business being there.

Seriously, how did that guy get away with being such a dirty MF’er for so long?

It looked like he altered his landing to avoid just that, and only partially rolled it after landing on the side of his foot. I suspect he’ll be back

by Mplax on Mar 17, 2010 9:07 PM CDT reply actions

Jonny Flynn

The swagger of a superstar with the game of a backup. He and Brewer each manage to embarrass themselves at least once or twice per game. At least Brewer evens it out every once in a while with a spectacular play.

That pass kinda put little Jonny on the spot.

It wasn’t all his fault.

"It's not too far; it just seems like it is."

by WillistonCoyote on Mar 17, 2010 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

I think that like most situations

Jonny just decided a little too early what he was going to do. He was committed to the tomahawk, and didn’t adjust to the defensive presence.

by dropstep on Mar 17, 2010 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Agreed

No excuse for not at least drawing a foul in that situation.

by Mplax on Mar 17, 2010 9:22 PM CDT up reply actions

I disagree, mostly

The man can fly, I have no problem with him trying to throw the hammer down on an elite shot blocker. I would be more concerned had he thrown up a fade away prayer. Getting blocked is part of the game.

How did Jonny average so many assists for 'Cuse when his court vision is so poor?...

…I’ve honestly wondered this all season. Didn’t see enough ’Cuse games last season to know the answer.

A little of both?

Maybe his foots bothering him more than he will admit. 0 fer 10?

I'm not sure what there is to learn from watching this team anymore

And I really don’t see where the enjoyment is supposed to come from. I think I should cut out for a little Curry vs. Collison action.

by dropstep on Mar 17, 2010 9:26 PM CDT reply actions

I love when

intelligent announcers correct their idiot counterparts. One of the Utah guys just said it was a good cal because Brewer got hit in the head, which clearly happened.

by Mplax on Mar 17, 2010 9:28 PM CDT reply actions

Did someone correct the comment

“Darko wanted no part of Mehmet!” when he matadored Okur to the hoop?

by dropstep on Mar 17, 2010 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

i think darko was more shocked...

..that big al was 5 feet away from the action and that when a big flashes out towards the perimeter he should expect at the very least a bit of backside help.

There are TOs and there are TOs

Some TOs just happen, others are just terrible and result in easy hoops. We specialize in the terrible kind, and a lot of them. 19 points off 12 of our TOs – they’re scoring 75% of the time we turn it over. At our rate of TOs games become essentially unwinnable without some other facet going our way. If they weren’t 2-15 from three we’d be buried already.

Ways I would prefer to tank include:

  • Starting Kevin Love at point guard….

I mean, why not? Would you learn more or less than you do by repeatedly testing the limits of Ryan Hollins as a power forward?

by dropstep on Mar 17, 2010 10:10 PM CDT up reply actions

He also

draws a lot of contact. If he can stop turning around, he will get a lot more calls like that. He should be getting a lot more calls as it is. Whether you think he deserves it or not, there is just no way you can not foul the guy when he moves like that. It’s written in the laws of physics. Yes, they’re written.

by TheGreat on Mar 18, 2010 12:24 AM CDT up reply actions

Sessions having a terrible game

I’d be ok with Flynn right now. But I’d prefer Wayne to be running the show. He’d be a perfect fit as a PG in the triangle. Enough handles to bring the ball up the court and a great shot to meet the biggest requirement of a PG in the triangle. Better passer than Flynn for sure and than Sessions this year.
