Wolves Waive Tucker
via Press Release
The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has waived forward Alando Tucker. The Timberwolves acquired Tucker from Phoenix on Dec. 29, 2009 along with a conditional second-round draft pick and cash considerations in exchange for Jason Hart.
A 6-6 forward, Tucker appeared in four games for the Wolves this season, averaging 2.0 points in 6.3 minutes per game. The 29th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Suns, Tucker owns career averages of 4.1 points and 1.0 rebounds in 51 appearances.

"Make way for the Return of the Janitor"
or, maybe make way for Danny Green if the Cavs dump him to make room for Big Z?
Alando Tucker played in four games for Minnesota?
Must’ve been a mirage.

Underwhelming
"I was trying to focus on breathing," Milicic said. "I was just focusing on breathing so I didn’t die."

I believe
it was to free up enough money in the State of Minnesota to sign Joe Mauer to his extension.
Tucker should've been......
Given a chance to play, sometimes you can find diamonds in the rough, no way in hell he could’ve been any worse than Sasha.

We know Sasha sucks
Why not cut his ass, and see if Tucker can play or not, there really is nothing to lose, this just pisses me off.
It may have something to do with the fact that apparently Sasha and Darko are friends. If you want your 7-footer to stick around instead of running back to Europe, you don’t cut his friend.
Which of his four made baskets was *your* favorite?

I don't understand why the Wolves would want to sign Brian Cardinal
when they only have 11 games left in the season. Unless Glen Taylor really likes wasting money.
Also, the Wolves already had a spot open, so they didn’t need to waive Tucker to sign Cardinal. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just let Tucker play out the rest of the season, since they’re paying him regardless.
These decisions make no sense to me.
PR?
If he isn’t going to get any PT here, does cutting him allow him to a latch on somewhere else so another team can get a preview of him to help him get another contract next year? I know we’ve been trying to cater to players wishes to make the organization look better (Blount, etc), so maybe this is just more of the same? Just speculating…

I don't know how much he could show a team with this few games left
Especially since his best chance at playing time would come on a team like ours. And he’s not eligible to play in the playoffs.
From the strib
You are right, but there are several teams pulling up guys from the D-League to play them at the end of the year, so maybe.
I noticed this in the strib
Tucker, a third-year guard from Wisconsin, appeared in only four games for the Wolves after being acquired from Phoenix on Dec. 29, scoring eight points in 25 total minutes. “I told him that it would be tough to find minutes for him, but he did everything right,” Rambis said. “He needs to go overseas and show people he can play.”
