Richard Walker/Gaston Gazette game recap
Rick Bonnell/Charlotte Observer game recap
Meanwhile the Timberwolves have lost 14 straight and are just 4-31 on the road. Kevin Love saw just 19 minutes of action for Minnesota and logged five points and nine rebounds.
"[Charlotte] did a good job," Kurt Rambis said. "They picked up their pressure and it disturbed our offense, it took us out of what we wanted to do."
Minnesota has not picked up a victory since a win over Miami on February 23 and are now 1-20 in their last 21.
"It's tough,"Corey Brewer said.

Officially No Better Than Last Year
The Wolves can run the table and they still won’t win any more games than they did last year. Of course, they are headed to Jimmy Rodgers territory and not a ten game winning streak.
Pining for a Troy Hudson/Marko Jaric backcourt.
Not to say I told you so, but....
Is this the worst Wolves team in franchise history? The 1991-92 team is the only one this team could catch in wins (15), but that team actually had a pythag that suggests 23 wins—they were unlucky. Their point differential was -7.
This unit…it has the record it deserves. This team is younger, but crappier. And the lack of development is the really disturbing thing. It’s hard to get better when you suck this bad.

Lots of questions about Al over the course of the season.
His D is suspect. I have questions about his fit in the motion O, though him being completely healthy may make a difference long-term.
That said, I took a step back last night and it’s likely that Al is the only legitimate NBA starter on this team. Love and Brew are the other two possibilities, but they have yet to develop/prove it. If that isn’t a throwback to 91-92 or 92-93 in terms of talent level, I don’t know what is.
That "health" question is the one that lasted all year long
Guy hasn’t recovered. It’s that simple. You can see it in 20 plays a night. He’s out there wearing two mattress pads on his calves. Not that his ball fake doesn’t still work, as in this early play when the Wolves were still in it last night. But look at those leg wraps. Al’s laboring.

"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
There's an argument to be made that a healthy Al has a much better chance to make an impact that Love.
(Yes, Love getting his shot blocked repeatedly is replaying in my mind as I write this.) It’s been a frustrating year with Al, but he’s the only guy on the squad presently who can be an impact player.
Now maybe Love improves and plays more like his flashes from last year. About that player development…
Isn't Love battling foot problems?
As in “a nagging injury,” rather than “it’s impossible for him to get more than a few inches of vertical space between his feet and the floor”.
Haven't heard that
any links? That would help explain some things recently if the foot injury deal is true.
Growing my own "Darko-stache" since last Monday.

Am I meant to hope they're all injured,
or that Rambis is making them play away from their preferred styles to teach them new stuff? I forget.
Maybe it’s both. We have one injured arm, and the other one’s tied behind our collective back. Yeah.

Somehow it's more comforting to me
to think that the team’s performance going from bad to wurst is because Rambo and POBO knee-capped each player a la Nancy Kerrigan, rather then them tanking or just declining in both interest and ability.
I think they end up..
….as the 2nd worst Wolves team of all time. The gold standard is 94/95:
http://www.canishoopus.com/2010/3/12/1369477/how-bad-is-bad
They were worse in relation to the league and they had the worst OE/DE differential in team history. Interestingly enough, they were pretty good at getting to the line. This year’s team is, amazingly, better on defense but worse on offense than the 94/95 team. What may give this year’s team a bump is that they are the worst offensive team in franchise history by more than 1/2 a point per 100 possessions. Hooray triangle!!!

Not sure
At the extremes, it almost becomes a matter of taste. I think this year’s team might actually be worse.

You can't give it any time
This sort of hooch you drink from an earthenware jug.

The Hollins experiment officially died with Darko.
That’s a wrap, folks.

In defence of Love
according to basketball reference he does have the second highest TS% on the team (to Hollins) of .556 but having never played basketball myself (except phy ed) I would like to ask what might Love do close to the basket with a rebound. Should he pass out more ? Do more head fakes? I wonder how similarily sized players like Boozer score 20 points per game.
Boozer is a much better Athlete
It helps to be all muscle like Boozer, honestly Love should just pass out or give the ball to Al.
on Rambis
These runs are getting common place. Some coaches seem to know just when to call time out and talk to the players and draw up maybe a play or two and tell specific players how they are getting beat. Do you see Rambis Doing this at the games?
Al
Al isn’t always there though, Hollins looses the ball a lot. Just trying to figure out if a less athletic but savvy player like Love couldn’t find better ways to get his opponent second guessing and off balance more. I"m guessing that Boozer is also pretty savvy that way.
Shouldn't he emulate Al?
I guess that’s the big question for me. If Al has really “taken Kevin under his wing,” shouldn’t we be seeing more of his pumpfakes and pivots being copied by Kevin?
Dark Love is a-Brewin...
Exactly, you said what Im trying to say
Maybe Kevin will figure something out to reduce his athletic shortcomings. He did become a better 3 point shooter this year.
Yep, I was definitely agreeing.
Just saying he need only look across the practice floor to find the perfect example.
