Rambis was on KFAN this morning
Thought you might want to listen. Pretty good interview. The Rambis portion is about 20 minutes into this hour. You can tell that Rambis really likes the potential of Darko and wants him around next season.

I want what he's smoking
Obviously saying good things about his guy, but there’s no way that Bynum has a lower upside than Darko. Maybe seven years ago, but not now.
Brewer on Beaubois, in theory, is an interesting matchup
Or do they give Corey Caron Butler?
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
I think Gomes can handle Butler
Seems like he’s turned into a mediocre jump shooter instead of being an elite slasher. I’m sure Kidd and Beaubois are licking their chops at the prospect of Flynn guarding one of them. And whoever Brewer is guarding can look forward to a bunch of open 3-point looks since Corey runs around trying to double everyone or cover for someone else’s mistake.

Feelin good about this one
The ping pong balls will thank me for that kiss of death.
Dark Love is a-Brewin...
It helps not having Haywood in there
but yeah, he has a little extra spring in his step tonight.

Now Hanneman's dropping OAR plugs, along with cheeseball wordplay?
“Al Jefferson and the Timberwolves, tonight, looking to take this town!”
Cue “This Town”
Dark Love is a-Brewin...
ugly pick and roll defense
led to the easy rebound and put-back for najera. Can’t give ’em those…
Darkos now enters the game....
Mn leads 23 – 22
Jefferson 5 for 5, Wolves up 19 to 9, then the brilliant decision making of the wolves gives him no more possessions
Dallas goes on a 17 to 4 run……
you keep feeding the hot man!!

I have a theory
that since he and Darko are friends, Rambis is giving Sasha more minutes so that Sasha lobbies Darko to stay here.
(BTW, I only half believe my own theory).

sadly so does Rambis

Hollins actually able to delicately tip a rebound to himself
using both hands. Wow. That’s growth, that’s growth.
Hollins mixing it up with Stevenson...
apparently hit him with an elbow. If he used his hands, not sure he could have hit the mark.
if you had any doubts, you are quite the fan...
to risk screwing up your ’puter for the chance to watch extended Sasha minutes
Man this is so ugly....
I was thinking of going to a game during Spring Break but there is no way I’m wasting my money on this.
Sasha's form is awful.
If we can fix Corey’s stroke, why not at least HELP Sasha a bit so his minutes aren’t so unbearable.
it's official...
only reason I’m still watching is to see Corey push the streak to #28
COREY!
and with that, there is no more reason to watch…
ah, not yet...
Brewer called my bluff. But I have to say the 14 pt deficit feels like 24. Probably because I missed the 19-9 start.
And I will scatter your ashes Lebowski-style into Kahn's face
(no disrespect, BVP – all malice directed at POBO)
is it that far off, though?
Maybe not his ceiling, but Barea seems like a short, scoring guard without the height or range of Terry? It seems somewhat realistic to me… (or maybe this is just me not being a huge fan of Flynn and getting pouty watching bench players consistently torch my favorite squad.)
But it seems like he has more space to operate in
If we played a spread offense with the bigs out of the lane, it would allow Flynn to play drive and kick. I’m not saying we should change our offense, I just think that our offense isn’t geared toward drive and kick.

Caron Butler is fronting you in the post and what do you do? You try to seal him a few feet from the basket so that we can’t lob an entry pass over Caron’s head. How about moving out away from the basket a few feet!

Anybody tuning in to CLE-SAS on NBAtv?
Clearly Cavs announcers, and they are @#$%ing annoying!
Dark Love is a-Brewin...
Corey Brewer triple double watch
10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists at the half. At this pace of play, you just never know what might happen. Perhaps even a quadruple double is in play with 3 turnovers as well!
In a weird way
it’s like we’re slowly improving some very promising talents while going for the ping pong balls. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if a month or two into next season this team really took off.
Assuming we keep blowing chunks and get one of the top two draft picks.
i hope so...
…because this is getting old and repetitive to watch.

…both have more minutes than the team’s best player.

in other words...
..the team’s two worst players have more burn than their best.

although..
…to be fair, the mavs went to a zone early on and this loss will be on the perimeter players for being unable to handle a basic f’ing zone defense.
Forever splitting the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs
www.canishoopus.com
but isn't Love both a better outside shooter and rebounder for other outside shots?
Wouldn’t a zone defense be one of the more effective defenses for Love to face?
yes..
…they could plant him at the free throw line and use him to collapse the defense. it’s pretty much the most basic way to attack a zone. amazingly, the wolves aren’t using him (or darko). a big who can pass from the free throw line and who can knock down the mid range jumper is a zone killer every bit as much as a guard who can hit the 3 and put it on the deck with proficiency.
Forever splitting the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs
www.canishoopus.com
I don't get it
It’s hard to believe that Hollins is that much more effective to warrant twice the PT
the sad thing is
Hollins is wicked athletic. if he had any clue as to what he was supposed to do he would deserve those minutes. sadly, that’s not the case.
Great fastbreak defense by Brewer
Completely changed that shot without committing the foul
i feel bad for jonny
he’s like ollie in hoosiers. you love the guy, and really want him to succeed…but when it counts he’s going to dribble off his foot and out of bounds.
beaubois..
…can get whatever he wants against him. it’s almost comical.

Tonite may be the beginning of the process.
He's had it easy tonight
He’s got the likes of Dampier, Marion, and Najera trying to defend him as opposed to Dampier or Haywood. He would not be doing this against those two.

No thanks, I’ll stick with Jonny
No he's not.
Collison is 6’1". Flynn is 6’0", if that. (And it’s irrelevant, since Collison is producing what he’s producing regardless of how tall he is.)
Al takes on the quadruple team
And dribbles off his leg. Awesome.
sure would be nice if it was legal to pass out of those...
….wait, it is? someone, quick, tell the man!!!
Tonight is one night I don't blame him
No one else has proven they can do crap. Our best offense has been Al forcing up shots.

Love not getting any PT
is really starting to annoy the fuck out of me, this is a 14 win team, no reason why he shouldn’t be playing 30+
Rambis really needs to learn how to coach a young developing team. Its not very fucking complex.
by jordanmowbray on Mar 8, 2010 9:08 PM CST up reply actions
Agreed...
It’s also worrisome for what it suggests about Rambis’ ability to evaluate talent. If he doesn’t realize that Love is one of the (if not THE) best players on this team, I don’t want him divvying up minutes for this team next year and beyond.
New theory...
We plan to keep Love, but he looks too good. In order to keep him out of trade discussions and to improve our ping-pong number, the POBO and Rambis have cooked up a system to lessen KLove’s value by putting him in situations where he can’t look good, thus making Al look even better to potential trading partners this summer. They are trying the same tactic with Hollins, but, well, uhhhhh….and here’s where the theory breaks down. ;-)
I actually agree with this theory

Rambis.
Wow i never thought I would say this, but i would definitly prefer Coach Kevin McHale over Coach Kurt Rambis. I know that its not even been a full year yet, but if Rambis keeps this up its not looking good. At least McHale showed promise and had some sense of what the f he was doing. On the other hand, Rambis is a mess, has the most absurd rotations and allocates minutes awfully. Oh… and most of all, McHale would start love, no doubt.
Anyone?

We'll never know about McFail as coach
Two issues: A) he probably got a little bounce after they fired Witless, who was simply awful in all respects; B) he didn’t even like doing it, the travel, etc. So over time that would have played out, probably negatively.

I understand where your coming from.
Hell, I know its probably a bit premature that we can say Rambis is an idiot. Because he was, after all, coached by arguably the greatest coach in the history of the NBA for his whole career and coveted by a number of NBA teams. But still… these lineups are so goddam sporadic, nowhere in the NBA do we see any team with this happening (except for maybe Westphal in Sacramento… but who knows wtf is happening down there… Supposedly Hawes and Tyreke got pissed at Westphal, so Hawes got sat the next game, etc. IDK)
But cmon its not like Pavs was playing well… he was -20, shooting 3-10, 0-3 from the FT line, his usually sub-par defense… any coach would take him out of the game, but instead he kept in… even during crunch time. Maybe, like you said, Wilkins needed the night off/didnt understand game plan… and could as well have been the same with Tucker… but atleast put in the best lineup (big man lineup, small man lineup, idc) to help you win the game, and tonight (or any other night) that was not pavs.

It is naive to pretend you know know why guys are coming in and out
We have no idea what goes on in practice, we have no idea who is banged up, we have no idea what guys are being asked to do, etc. Just because we can’t figure out why Love got 12 minutes tonight doesn’t mean there isn’t a good reason. Half the time the complaint seems to be ‘make him earn the minutes (usually Flynn)’, half the time it is ‘just play him it isn’t like it matters (usually Love)‘.
Sorry, just getting fed up with the assumptions that we’re tanking or Rambis is an idiot because the rotations seem odd to a bunch of fans, even hoop-head fans. No offense.

explain why pavs plays
and I’ll give you the rest
by ChicagoViking on Mar 8, 2010 9:37 PM CST up reply actions
Part of the point is....
….I don’t know. But I’m not leaping to ‘a guy who’s been on the bench with HOF coaches for many years and widely considered a top coaching prospect is actually a total idiot/trying to lose’.
Pavs played 21 minutes Wilkins 1, Brewer 39, and Gomes (37) the rest at the 2/3. So Pavs took time from Wilkins and Tucker. Tucker is nailed to the bench for reasons none of us know. Maybe Wilkins is hurt, maybe he routinely gets used by the guys he would have been defending. Maybe Pavs was doing all the right things. Maybe Wilkins needed the night off or completely failed to execute what they worked on in practice. Pavs was in the doghouse and just admitted he wasn’t playing the right way, maybe Rambis saw him doing the right things and let him go. I mean seriously, we can’t know. It is easy to say ‘play Tucker what have we got to lose.’ But it is quite likely Tucker would have been worse.

Dude, ya’ll gotta get rid of Hollins! Trust me, we saw this last season. He’s a knuckelhead. Like in the playoffs when he dunked on Duncan then talked trash to him.

God writes his news on Sarah Palin's hand

apparently
Obama said backwards mean “I’ll let the Chinamen imprison my people and turn them into communists” in Swahili. Or so I heard…
OK, I missed this quote
which so insane that I normally would assume it’s a joke. Recent remark she made?

It's not a remark
It’s a fact of life. Viva la Palin ’11

Wow 120 points for Dallas
and Love is on the bench probably because he’s a bad defensive matchup against the Mavs
a moral victory
they had 37 in the second. We held them to under 150 for the night.

Oh the matchups!
Heaven forbid we give Love and Jefferson any burn together against a team with zero uninjured centers. They simply don’t have the size to contend with massive frontlines like Marion/Najera.
It doesn't matter who we draft/sign...
Wall/Turner/Gay, whoever we get Rambis will find a way to get the least possible out of him. He’s kind of like Greg Popvoch…only the exact opposite.
I am pulling for Dallas
come playoff time.

Also...
Don’t think Kahn can do anything about the disaster that is Kurt Rambis. Kahn has a 2 year 1 million dollar contract. Rambis is 4 year 8 Million. WE all know who’s calling the shots there.
new theory
Love is working Rambis’ daughter. She’s a California girl…
Rambis is upset, does not accept the relationship. I’ve seen this movie. In the end, there’s a wedding and an NBA championship.
Don't forget the Beach Boys connection, either

Love is probably gay.
I have a finely tuned gaydar and Love is definitely beeping like crazy.
Pau Gasol also sets off the ‘ol gaydar. I know he’s married, but I’m pretty certain he’s gay, whereas I only have a hunch about Love.
Turn off that gaydar in your pants...
It only works one way.
