Hoopus Night: You Didn't Forget, Did You?

Now that we're a little under 1 month away, I wanted to make a quick reminder about Hoopus Night. Here's the run down for Saturday, April 3:

  • 4pm/5pm? Pre-game happy hour/meet-up. There's nothing planned yet (location, time, etc) but a couple people have expressed interest in meeting up before the game. If you have any thoughts or preferences on this one, say it loud and proud.
  • 6pm: Q&A with Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn (other front office members may attend, but haven't been confirmed)
  • 7pm: We watch the Wolves take on Dwyane Wade and the Heat

Tickets are $35 and include a lower level seat in Section 121, an invitation to the pre-game talk with David Kahn, and if you're bringing your kids they'll be able to hi-five players coming out of the tunnel.

In order to attend contact Suzie Hewitt at hewitt@timberwolves.com or 612.673.1297

Also, if you're looking at becoming a season ticket holder, please consider contacting Suzie. She's been extremely helpful to us in planning Hoopus Night this year and anything we can do to help her would be great.

If you have any questions, talk to Suzie or myself (email or comments).

I can’t go, but I hope many here do (what a great opportunity) and are vocal when talking with Kahn.

As a newer member here, I’ve enjoyed the more statistical slant on this site. I certainly hope someone here asks Kahn many of the recurrent questions that are asked on this site (respectfully of course).

-Kahn’s insight on the upcoming CBA negotiations and what impact they might have on Rubio, our cap space, the number of college players who will declare this year, etc.
-Further, does a system where players are often valued as an “expiring contract” more than a player make much sense. Seems like it often leads to lopsided trades.
-I’d like more of Kahn’s thoughts on advanced statistics. If we’re using them, how could we arrive as some of the lineups that we use? If not, why not? At least offensively, they seem to work pretty well when scouting/evaluating players.
-Discussion on why some players seem to have longer leashes vs others for no real reason. Ex. Flynn, Hollins, Pavs vs Love, Sessions.
-Why can’t we experiment more with Flynn/Sessions together given our record?
-Does the draft lottery serve it’s purpose?

I’m sure there are more.

Do we buy tickets on 4/3/2010 at the game? How does that work?

'Fraid no sweet

We’ll bet in the stands with the heathens. I just felt more at home in that crowd.
