Flynn, the No. 6 pick, has been a disappointment. The conventional wisdom is that he's been hamstrung by coach Kurt Rambis' triangle offense, but the numbers don't back it up. Among rookie point guards, only Evans and Jennings have attempted more shots per minute than Flynn (yes, the deadeye Curry shoots less often) and Flynn leads all rookies in turnovers per minute -- triangle or not, he's hardly disengaged from those half-court sets.

Ouch... but his analysis is painfully accurate.
Jonny Flynn might well be our own version of Nate Robinson. Which is fine when Rubio gets here. Until then it might be a little painful. I still would rather have him over Ty Lawson or Darren Collison though. I know they’re playing better right now but I think Jonny could be better in the long run. He’s just got to cut down on the TOs. As long as he’s a spark off the bench, it’s OK to be a shoot first PG. If him and Love were to content to remain on the bench, they’d really kill opposing teams’ bench for years to come…

Great. When they hand out the “NBA Bench Championship” trophy to the Wolves, I think the parade should be held down an alley that parallels Washington Ave.
Now if the Wolves could actually add 3-4 more quality starters to the team—

Will the trophy be a splintery plank of pine?

Too early
Yeah his first year has been not as good as others. But to call him a disappointment this early in his career is well….too early. lol

Well, he's disappointed me
Mostly because he just hasn’t gotten better. Shooting, turnovers, it really hasn’t moved forward one inch since December. Maybe his assist rate has ticked upward.

Agreed
However he has the potential to get better with more time in Rambis’ system and in the NBA in general.

One part of Flynn’s game that bothers me is his inability to feed the post.
He’s having a pretty good rookie year for a 20-21 yr old point guard. With the right coaching and attitude, he’ll be a good pro. Plenty of talent to build on.

Exactly
I am curious to see where he is as a player in a few years.

Here, here..
…good points keep their big men happy. One of the most amazing things, to me, about Flynn has been his inability to reward a big for hustling in transition as well as his inability to reenter the ball into the post. Those are two pretty basic aspects of running a good point.

I'm guessing
(and hoping) that those attributes won’t be nearly as dormant if and when Rubio comes over to the Wolves.
I wonder how many rookies who climbed from the teens
into the top 6 in the weeks leading to the draft have underperformed. I have no way of knowing, but I am not really surprised. I just hope when Rubio gets here that Flynn will accept his new role as spark plug off the bench. If he does, it is not a wasted pick. Unfortunately, it seems like underperforming high draft picks usually have to get traded a couple times before they accept their fate.
Flynn performing like the 18th best player in the draft
Not his fault he got drafted above his skill level:

Gotta love his top 3 way back in May: Griffin, Rubio, Evans…and Lawson at #4.
Weiland is one of my favorite analysts, he uses stats but also what he sees.
Flynns stats in college indicated he would struggle with turnovers and he didn’t have shooting range. He’s a quick undersized combo guard in the NBA and always will be.
Nice guy though. That counts for something.
His take on cousins
Is interesting. He really is a fantastic player.

"That counts for something."
Apparently it counts for a lot, like a 12 pick bump in your draft position. Either Flynn is a saint, or everyone else is a total a-hole.
