Prokhorov, my new best friend!

So it hasn't really been mentioned yet, but if Kahn truly is that low on Cousins, I'd much rather talk to NJ to see what it would take to get Favors. While I am not too concerned that Favors will be better than Cousins, I am mostly just worried about Wes Johnson being our pick... I at least want to see some beautiful PnR with Cousins/Favors and Rubio some day.

So Prokhorov said a few times tonight about how he wants an international team... one that spans from New Jersey to Brooklyn to Moscow.... and beyond. Sorta the Buzz Lightyear of owners.

Well we've got beyond. And potential for more beyond. While I have been liking Seraphin more and more by the day, maybe he would be enough to convince Prokhorov to swap picks with us? I would prefer if Pekovic were enough, but for some reason I doubt that. Even though Pek's more ready to contribute... who knows what this guy is thinking though. But the value between the 3 and 4 picks really isn't that great and I think Cousins will make a definite case for himself in measurements and workouts. So let's not do anything until after we get a better read (I'd hate to trade for the 3 and then take Cousins anyways... though heck maybe he will truly separate himself from Favors and it would still help us?).

Anywho, let's help the Nyets out with expanding their international market. We have two options, maybe 3 if Kahn is desperate. Trade Seraphin and Cousins for Favors or trade Pekovic and Cousins for Favors... worst case scenario it costs us both of those guys. I'd prefer to keep Seraphin myself just becuase of his fit with the team even though Pek has proven a lot more. Unfortunately, I think Kahn has kind of shown his hand a little too much (or hell, maybe he is just a criminal mastermind and really REALLY wants Cousins) so the asking price will be higher than fair value by quite a bit, but Pekovic and Cousins for Favors seems like quite a bit more than fair value considering Cousins is probably better than Favors in the first place. It's really unfortunate (and telling) that a lot of the teams at the top of the draft are teams with slow bigs... Yi and Lopez; Brand, Dalembert, and Speights; ourselves; and Landry and Hawes.

So please Kahn, at least try to move up with a spot for a small fee instead of taking Johnson at 4. If you refuse to take Cousins, at least trade down for a medium fee and Johnson... after all, Cousins and Favors are in the same tier, Cousins and Johnson... are not.

Hopefully Kahn is at least smart enough not to take Johnson at 4... please, <insert higher power of your choosing>, please! Either way, the workouts should be pretty entertaining coming up.
